4Entrepreneurship<br />

The entrepreneurship centres at LMU Munich, the<br />

Technical University of Munich and the University of the<br />

Bundeswehr have joined forces with the <strong>SCE</strong> to further<br />

promote entrepreneurial thinking among students and<br />

enhance the Munich region's capacity for innovation.<br />

This intensive networking between the centres has<br />

given the city of Munich and the greater Munich area<br />

the benefit of a dense and continually expanding regional<br />

and international entrepreneurship network rich<br />

in experience and resources. Once a year, under the<br />

joint 4Entrepreneurship umbrella, the four centres work<br />

together to host the Global Entrepreneurship Summer<br />

School (GESS), and they regularly hold “speed pitch”<br />

events with and for start-ups, along with other events.<br />

In 2010, 4Entrepreneurship initiated the Social Entrepreneurship<br />

Akademie.<br />

The Social Entrepreneurship Akademie (SEA) was established<br />

in 2010 as a networking organisation serving<br />

Since 2011, the SEA has been offering private persons<br />

an extracurricular or extra-occupational one- to twoyear<br />

training programme leading to the “Social Innovation”<br />

certificate (ZGI).<br />

The certificate programme is designed to impart knowledge<br />

specific to social entrepreneurship. Some 25 students<br />

and novice professionals make up one class; the<br />

fifth one started in October 20<strong>15</strong>. The SEA also offers<br />

workshops and en-bloc seminars devoted to a range of<br />

topics such as social innovation, social entrepreneurship<br />

and sustainable management and hosts the Global<br />

Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS).<br />
