Press information 0207 / 2 nd July 2007 Strategic alliance in international sea transportation A strategic alliance further strengthens the cooperation between Brouwer Shipping & Chartering, Hamburg, Alfred C. Toepfer International, Hamburg, ThyssenKrupp MinEnergy, Essen and Imperial Logistics International, Duisburg. Subject to antitrust clearance, and with retroactive effect from 1st June 2007, Imperial Logistics International GmbH, Duisburg, has sold each a 30 percent equity stake in Brouwer Shipping & Chartering GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg, including the subsidiary H.M.R Hansa Maritime Reederei GmbH, Hamburg, to ThyssenKrupp MinEnergy GmbH, Essen, and to Alfred C. Toepfer International GmbH, Hamburg. Holger Ranf remains a co-shareholder and continues to hold 10 percent of the shares and serves as chairman of the company. The other mananging directors are Rüdiger Hartwig and Harry Hoffmann. The contract provides that the companies involved expand their respective activities on the volatile sea freight market to previously uncovered market segments and to thereby strengthen and further develop their position within the shipping market. The cooperation is also intended to enable even greater flexibility in the future in response to customer requirements and to be able to offer complete solutions.
