The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD
AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED

MORE THAN WELCOME TO
ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MEET
OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period , attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two- thirds vote of membership present at
any general membership meeting by secret
ballot
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability insurance
for CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. We
had brunch with my family and dinner
with Jan’s so in true CVC style had
plenty to eat.
With some longer runs (Laughlin,
Mystery Run, North by Northwest)
coming up I thought I’d go over some of
the basic “rules of the road” for runs.
This is not meant as criticism towards
any members, just reminders for
members new and old. Please be on
time. The schedule for the rest of the
day is predicated on an on-time
departure. Try to check out your CB
before the run. Start the run with a full
tank of gas and keep it topped off
through the run. During the run listen
up on your CB for instructions from the
leader on lane changes, speed changes,
turns, etc. Informal CB conversation is
fine, just don’t overdo it.
Try to maintain a constant distance
between you and the Corvette in front of
you. Don’t leave too big of a gap as it
tends to frustrate the drivers behind you
and allows other vehicles to get into the
group. This causes the group to gradually
split up and the ensuing speeding up by
cars in back to catch up. This can cause
safety problems, so remember to keep
the convoy “closed up”.
Our annual picnic is coming up on May
1 st . The cost has gone up a bit from
previous years and we will be voting on
approving those funds at the April
general meeting. A large majority of
members have signed up for the picnic
and a good time will be had by all. Once
again, many thanks to the Kroekers for
providing the use of Kroekerville. It is a
perfect place for a picnic.
October 22nd has been set as the date
for our Twenty Fifth Anniversary Party at
the Garrahan’s. Charlotte and her party
committee will be providing more info as
time goes on.

General Meeting Minutes
March 15, 2016
The General meeting was called to order at
6:30 by President Gary Pflepsen.
The minutes from the February meeting
were read by Debby Anderson, Secretary.
Del Walker made a motion to accept the
minutes as read and it was seconded by
Chuck Laningham. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report was given by Mike
Lebda.
VP of Activities Skip Severance had the run
leaders report on the previous month’s
runs. Freddie’s memorial went well and his
wife was very appreciative to have so
many from the club show up. The
upcoming runs are March 23rd movie
night, April 14 -16 Gamblers Classic, April
16 th Wine & Vintages Car Show, April 23 rd
Clovis Rodeo, April 30 th Kerman Car Show,
May 1 st Club Picnic, June 26 th Word from
Home Car Show, July 6-9 Presidents
Mystery tour.
VP of PR/Membership Charlotte Renna
gave the Birthday and Anniversary report.
Visitors tonight were Diane Tjerrild, Bob
Peluso, Dave & Lori Dukes. This was the
second meeting that all of them attended.
Sgt. at Arms Chuck Laningham collected .75
cents in missing badge fees.
Sunshine and Clouds report was given by Jan
Pflepsen.
Old Business:
The 25 th Anniversary party will be October
22, 2016 at Pat and Patricia Garrahan’s. The
committee will be Charter members
Charlotte, Andy, Connie, Keith & Debbie and
Members at large, Pat & Patrick. In Joe
Renna’s honor, Charlotte will donate the
meat. The committee will have a discussion
as to what the Anniversary memorabilia
should be. Also, we can all look forward to
reading articles in our Newsletter over the
next few months about club history and the
charter members.
New Business:
Charlie announced that he is once again part
if the Kiwanis Club Crab Feed. It will be
Saturday, May 7 th . $70 per person and
always a wonderful event if any club
members would like to go he has tickets.
The next General Meeting will be Tuesday,
April 19, 2016.
The next Board Meeting will be Tuesday
March 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Debby’s
house.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made
by Craig Hanson and seconded by Ruth
Danielsen.

SURGERY WAS DUE TO AN OLD INJURY TO HER HIP AND FEMUR. SHE IS
DOING WELL.
3. EMILY PIERCY ALSO HAD A SURGERY PERFORMED. ALL WENT WELL AND
WENT HOME ON MARCH 16, 2016.
4. OUR FORMER FIRST LADY, PAM ANDERSON HAS BEEN LIVING VICARIOUSLY
THROUGH CHARLOTT’S FACEBOOK PAGE AND HAS GAINED 10 POUNDS!

‘In the Garage’ by Jeff Levine
Where have all the woodies gone? Nick Alexander owned all of these.
They were sold at a special auction in August 2009 at Pebble Beach.
Nick was selling out to focus more on his ranches and horses.
He was a BMW dealer in Los Angeles and had been actively
working on his collection for nearly 12 years.
A complete collection of 60, V-8-powered, Ford and Mercury
wood-bodied cars from 1932-'52 sold for $7 mil. in 4 hours!

We MUST be in place on Jefferson before 8:25 am as they close all of the streets
in that area at that time.
We will wait on Jefferson approximately ½ to 1 hour until we are called on to line up.
Wear/Bring: Your Patriotic Cap & CVC Shirt / American Flags & Decor, Water, Chair, Umbrella, etc.

ABSOLUTELY NO BURN-OUT OF TIRES. If one car spins its tires, we will all be escorted off
the parade route and never be invited back again. No throwing of candy or trinkets. (Only
walkers may hand out goodies). Yes, you MAY honk, wave, smile, & rev your engine in neutral!
We will meet up after the Parade at Red Robin, SE corner Shaw/Clovis for lunch / Ice Cream
