DEED RESTRICTION REMINDERS
DOGS: Please remember barking can be a nuisance to your neighbors. Do
your best to be respectful of the noise level on your property. Pets must be
kept on a leash when walking and don’t forget pick up after them.
LOUD NOISE/MUSIC: Domestic neighbor noise, such as DIY work or loud
music, is the most common cause of noise complaint. It is advisable to
take steps to resolve the problem yourself before filing a complaint with the
management company, such as speaking face-to-face or writing a letter to
your neighbor to explain how you are affected. If you have been unable or
not felt comfortable with resolving a problem with domestic neighbor noise,
please call Top Gun at 281-905-2522 or 713-907-2744, so they may ask your
neighbor to lower the noise.
TRASH: As a friendly reminder trash days are on Mondays and Thursdays
for Stone Gate and Wednesdays and Saturdays for Canyon Lakes West.
TREES: Dead trees and/or missing trees are a violation of your deed
restrictions. If tree stakes are not attached to the tree or if the ties are an inch
or two into the tree - they need to be removed. Thank you for helping to keep
our community a beautiful place to live!
FISHING IN THE LAKES: Not permitted at any time. Please refrain from
this activity.
BASKETBALL GOALS IN STREET: While basketball goals are permitted in
your driveway while being used, they are not allowed in the streets. Please
refrain from blocking the ingress/egress of traffic or emergency vehicles.
PETS
Stone Gate Community has had many loose dogs & cats lately. Please do
your part to keep your animals safe and contained on your property.
Please Control Your Pets!
It is a deed restriction violation if your pets are not confined to a fenced
backyard or within your home. They must not be allowed to bark all night
or cause a nuisance to your neighbors. They must also be on a leash at
all times when not in a contained environment. It is also the pet owner’s
responsibility to keep ALL areas of the community FREE from pet debris
when walking your pets. Please remember that cats must also be confined.
GATE UPDATE AND TOP GUN
SECURITY PHONE NUMBERS
Dear Homeowner:
Customer privacy and security have never been more important. We want
to give you an update on the gates and cameras and after-hours phone
numbers to Top Gun Security.
Currently we have over 120 cameras up and running. We fixed the cameras
first to determine who was responsible for damaging the gates by pushing
them open with their vehicles. Any vehicle caught on camera damaging the
gates will be responsible for all damages to the gate and gate opener.
We are in the process of replacing all old hydraulic gate openers with new
mechanical gate openers. The new mechanical gate openers are stronger,
more reliable and are able to handle the weight of the gate.
We are also installing new call boxes at the same time as we are putting
in the new mechanical gate openers. You may see some street boring or
cutting of the concrete to lay new lines for the system.
Below we have provided after-hours contact numbers for you to report any
suspicious activity. You may share this information with other homeowners.
We believe the responsible use of the information is an important part of
meeting your needs and provide consistent service.
We value you as a homeowner and thank you for your support.
LET US KEEP OUR
NEIGHBORHOODS LITTER FREE!
Take responsibility for yourself & be a good neighbor! Keep our streets &
neighborhood trash & litter free! Make it a habit, be a good neighbor & do
your part!
If each person did their own part (around the outside of their home, including
their little stretch of street in front of their house), what a better place this
would be to live!
A clean environment/neighborhood makes people feel good about
themselves. They will keep it clean. Some need to be reminded. Others need
to be continually reminded. It takes time to change habits. Keeping your
neighborhood clean is a habit that takes conscious effort.
GARDENING TIPS FOR APRIL
Mulch - If possible, buy Bagged Mulch. Bagging helps eliminate a great
many pests that die from various causes while in the bag. When you buy
‘loose’ mulch that is trucked to your home, you are also buying ants, roaches,
termites, etc… Spend a little more on bagged material and save lots of
future pest problems. Keep your mulch at least 4” - 6” below the top of your
homes exposed foundation edge/side. This will aid in minimizing pests in
your home and allow for quick and accurate termite inspections.
Shrubs, Flowers and groundcovers - Trim all shrubs/plants at least 12”
- 18” back from your home. Do your best to create a plant free zone that is
18” - 24” wide around your home. The exception is your lawn - it can grow up
next to the slab as long as you keep it 4” - 6” below the top of the slab. The
most conducive to termite infestation are groundcover plantings, growing
high against your homes exterior or (especially) ivy that grows on your walls.
Trees - Spray your trees at least twice annually. The spring spray eliminates
overwintering pests and fungi while preparing trees to resist the pest
onslaught of summer with residual pesticides. The fall spray also kills pests
from the summer, prevents most fungi from occurring over the winter and
puts your valuable asset off to a healthy winter’s dormancy.
Lawn - Spring is the perfect time to do a fungicide treatment to stop brown
patch in its tracks along with other fungi. If your lawn is thin and weak in
some areas, here are some important fundamentals: a) lawn aeration b)
fertilization c) weed control.
Most important is proper watering:
• Water once per week (unless you get a 1/2” rain or more - then do not
water.)
• Water heavily (1” - 2”) for total lawn coverage.
• In severe drought, water every 5 th day.
• Water from 5 AM to 7 AM in the morning - NOT AT NIGHT.
• A heavy deep weekly watering makes the turf grow deeper, stronger and
more drought resistant roots.
• Less watering also saves you money!!
GIRL SCOUTS OF SAN JACINTO COUNCIL
COPPER CREEK MEADOWS COMMUNITY
Our Girl Scout Cookie sale for 2016 concluded on March 20 th . Hope you
stocked up, as there will be a long wait before cookie time rolls around
again! Many thanks to all our cookie volunteers and to all the troops who
participated. We appreciate the support of our friends and neighbors. !
Money earned from the annual Cookie sale funds individual troop activities
and supports Council programs and camps. Some of our troops really made
their cookie booths special. Members of troop 113035 had a cookie booth
on Valentine’s Day and report that they sold 200 boxes in 2 hours. These
Girl Scouts really enjoy dressing up. They represented Vietnam at our World
Thinking Day event and took part in our cafeteria-size Friendship Circle.
The World Thinking Day event drew almost 200 girls (and their leaders).
Each troop represented a different country and presented national costumes,
music, food and crafts at their booths. They also had some great swaps!
Stick on mustaches, crepes and chocolate lollipops that were shaped like
the Eiffel tower were featured at the “France” booth. Maracas made from
plastic spoons and Easter eggs accompanied Fiesta costumes at the Mexico
booth the special collars and headdresses seen at the Egypt booth looked
as if they had come from the King Tut exhibit. Beautiful costumes, bright
colors and lots of smiling faces made traveling “around the world” as easy as
moving around the cafeteria! Our event started off with a flag ceremony and
recitation of the Girl Scout Promise and finished up with a Friendship Circle
and singing “Make New Friends.” We also collected donations for the Juliette
Low World Friendship Fund.
Our STRIDERS event brought an afternoon of track and field events, with
families coming out to cheer on their daughters. Girls jumped rope, ran
in individual and relay races, threw softballs and jumped in standing and
running events. We also had a few snacks to keep up our strength for all
those activities. Our spring Leader/Daughter event in Wimberley featured
“Art in Bloom” crafts and activities, as well as the Talent Show, Dutch oven
Cook-off and all our usual fun activities. Horseback riding and rock climbing,
kayaking, shopping and eating the results of the Dutch Oven Cook-Off are all
part of this exciting weekend.
Cadette Troop 16435 reports that they attended the “Be an Upstander” event
at the Holocaust Museum. They earned the ‘Science of Happiness” badge
and the Interact award towards the “Amaze Journey.”
April will be a busy time for our Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts,
with activities such as Cadette Weekend, Scouts at SAM and Girl Scout Law
Troop 16435
Day. Some of these older Girl Scouts will also be participating with adults as
delegates to the annual Council Meeting. Daisy Troop 113049 reports that
they made “blessing bags” to be handed out to those in need.
We are getting close to the end of the school Scouting year, with a Bridging
Ceremony planned for May, as troops move on to the next Girl Scout level.
Summer brings resident, day and twilight camps and the chance to learn new
skills, have fun and make new friends. Some of our troops are also looking
forward to the Girl Scout Night Sleepover at the Sugarland Skeeters stadium;
they will be taking part in a parade around the stadium, enjoying the game
and pitching their tents on the field afterwards!
Troop 113049
Girl Scouting is open to all girls ages 5 (must be in kindergarten) through 18
who are willing to accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Girls may join at
any level and no previous Scouting experience is required. Copper Creek
listed below, as well as the corresponding middle and high schools. Home
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA -
COPPERHEAD DISTRICT
For 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in
the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in
helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps
youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills,
outdoor skills and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
The Boy Scouts of America provides youth with programs and activities that
allow them to:
• Try new things.
• Provide service to others.
• Build self-confidence.
• Reinforce ethical standards.
Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals
while promoting activities that lead to personal responsibility and high selfesteem.
As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure
can be resisted and the right choices can be made.
Scouting provides a rewarding experience for boys ages 5 to 21. Scouting
through the local Packs and Troops teach outdoor and life skills which help
our youth Be Prepared. Your area is serviced by the BSA Sam Houston Area
Counsel - Copperhead District which includes 23 Cub Scout Packs (boys 5
to 10 years old), 13 Troops (boys from 11 to 18 years old) and 10 Venturing
units (boys and girls from 14 to 21). Our Units typically meet weekly.
BOY SCOUT TROOP 10
Boy Scout Troop 10 meets every Tuesday night during the school year
at the West Houston Church of Christ on West Road and Queenston. Our
meetings begin at 7 PM. We spend our time working on merit badges,
planning for our monthly camp outs and working on rank advancements.
The boys will be extra busy this month as they will be participating in our
District Camporee where they compete with other Troops in the district in
activities like tent races and archery! In addition, they will have a booth at
the annual Scout Fair held at NRG Arena on April 16 th . They will be building
sandwiches and providing beverages for everyone who comes by the booth.
We hope to see you out there!
The Troop has just started a new service project collecting empty toilet paper
and paper towel rolls. The rolls will be given to a Houston area church that
fills them with hard candy and decorates them then sends them overseas
to children in less fortunate areas. This project will be ongoing for several
months so if you would like to donate empty rolls please contact Taunia Berg
at 832-217-6076.
Now is the perfect time to join us and get started on this fabulous journey! If
you have a son in the 6 th grade or higher that would like to join in the fun and
adventure please contact us. Our Scout Master is Ross Berg and his number
is 281-513-9892 or you can also contact our Committee Chairperson, Drew
The Children’s Choirs of Cornerstone United Methodist Church will be presenting their musical
“Blast Off!” on Sunday, April 24 th at the 10:45 AM service. Told with props, set and costumes,
“Blast Off!” tells the story about kids who dream of being astronauts, traveling through space
and learning of God the Creator’s marvelous creation. With help from various stars, planets, a
cantankerous robot and the wise and patient Flight Commander, Mr. Houston, they learn that the
God who created the stars and the heavens is the same God who loved the world so much that
He sent His son to die for them, wants to have a relationship with them and with Him nothing is
