DAY FOUR – Transfer to Milan

Following breakfast, depart for Milan by motorcoach. Upon arrival,

DAY TWO – Arrival in Milan / Como

Welcome to Italy! After arriving at the airport, you’ll be met by a

representative of Mayflower Tours and escorted to the waiting

motorcoach for your transfer to the hotel in the Lake Como region.

The remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY THREE – Como & Villa Carlotta

After breakfast, depart the hotel with your local guide to explore

the picturesque lakeside town of Como, the birthplace of Pliny

the Elder and the Younger. Eclectic architecture, a glittering waterfront

and magnificent mountain scenery await your discovery.

During an included visit to Villa Carlotta, see famous paintings

by great Italian masters, deluxe furnishings and period pieces on

this self-guided tour. Stroll through the beautifully manicured

terraced gardens with statues, fountains and more than 500

sites and monuments of Italy’s fashion capital. On a stroll

through the Brera District, home to art museums and galleries,

you’ll see why this area is popular among artists and has a likeness

to the Montmartre District in Paris. The Teatro alla Scala,

one of the world’s most famous theatres, is among the highlights

of the Piazza della Scala, along with the monument to Leonardo

da Vinci, a former resident of Milan. As you pass through the

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, be sure to notice the patriotic mosaics

and statues that grace the interior of this impressive fivestory,

glass covered arcade. Step inside the Duomo di Milano,

Italy’s largest cathedral and the largest Gothic cathedral in the

world. Visit one of Milan’s most important landmarks - the

15th-century Castella Sforzesco, which, during its heyday, was

decorated by Donato Bramante and Leonardo da Vinci and currently

houses an impressive collection of art. This evening dinner

is included at the hotel. (Breakfast and dinner)

DAY FIVE – Free day in Milan

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and take the day to continue

exploring the city on your own or join an optional excursion

to scenic Lugano in Switzerland. (Breakfast)

DAY SIX – Transfer to the Italian Riviera

After breakfast, the journey continues as you depart Milan by

motorcoach and travel south to the Italian Riviera. Enjoy the

beautiful scenic drive to this seaside paradise for the next three

nights’ accommodations. This evening dinner is included at the

hotel. (Breakfast and dinner)

DAY NINE – Venice via Verona

After breakfast, depart by motorcoach for Venice. En-route,

enjoy a guided visit of Verona where history and Shakespeare

come alive. Inside the town wall, see the Roman arena from the

1st century, the historic town center with narrow streets and

medieval lanes, and the balcony made famous by Shakespeare’s

‘Romeo and Juliet’. After the excursion, continue to Venice and

arrive at your hotel in Mestre for the final two nights’ accommodations.

The remainder of the evening is at leisure. (Breakfast)

DAY TEN – Walking tour of Venice

This morning enjoy a guided walking tour of Venice where you

will visit historic churches and picture-perfect piazzas. Visit the

iconic St. Mark’s Square and view its soaring basilica, see the

stately Doge’s Palace, built in the Venetian Gothic style in 1340

and marvel at the Bridge of Sighs and the Rialto Bridge, which

spans the Grand Canal. During a glassblowing demonstration,

learn about the city’s most celebrated art. Enjoy free time in the

city or take on optional Gondola Ride. Later this evening, join

your Tour Manager and fellow travelers for a farewell dinner at

the hotel. (Breakfast and dinner)

DAY ELEVEN – Departure

Filled with wonderful memories of Italy’s history and beauty, it’s

time to say ‘arrivederci’ as you transfer to the airport for your

flight home. (Breakfast)

DAY SEVEN – Cinque Terre

This morning the adventure continues as you travel to Cinque

Terre (‘Five Lands’). Comprised of five villages perilously

perched along cliffs on a short stretch of rugged coastline, this

national park and protected marine area is a UNESCO World

Heritage Site. While visiting two of the pleasant, peaceful villages

you’ll discover each has a charm and character of its own.

Friendly villagers, picturesque harbors and sweeping views of

the sea are sure to be encountered on today’s excursion.


DAY EIGHT – Italian Riviera

Enjoy a full day at leisure in the Italian Riviera. (Breakfast)

includes group transportation to and from San Francisco airport.

Air itineraries may not be available until documents are received. Air seats are assigned by the airline for

the entire group. Seat changes can only be attempted upon receipt of tickets and documents at which

time availability may be limited. If specific seat assignments are vital to your reservation, we recommend

individual air reservations rather than booking air with the group.

This nonrefundable fee waives all cancellation fees when we are notified of cancellation one day

before the tour departs. If you must leave the tour early due to personal illness, illness or death

of a member of your immediate family, TPP guarantees full refund for any unused services after

the departure of the tour. Other benefits include medical expenses for illness and injury, emergency

transportation, 24 hour hot line, and lost or stolen baggage assistance. Return air transportation

is included ONLY if your air tickets were provided by Mayflower Tours. If you purchase

the optional Travelers Protection Plan (TPP), you will be refunded all payments, including deposit

amount, less the TPP premium amount.

Exclusions: Mayflower Tours reserves the right to alter its refund and cancellation policy when a substantial

amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is attributable to: conditions resulting from

an act of God, natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between

nations, or unavailability of transportation through no fault of Mayflower Tours.

Passport & Visas

Each U.S. citizen must have a valid passport. Expiry date of passports should be at least 6

months after the return date of tour. If you don’t have a passport, call our office and we’ll

tell you how to apply for one. Some countries require visas for entry by U.S. citizens. We will

send visa applications and instructions if a visa is required for your tour. Holders of non-

U.S. passports should contact their nearest consulate and inquire about the necessary passport or visa

documentation required for entry into the countries visited. NOTE: Due to airline security measures,

your passport name must match your airline ticket name and your tour reservation name or you may

be denied aircraft boarding.
