Norway Yearbook - 1982

Preface
Statistical Yearbook of Norway 1982 contains as usual data for the last years from various
fields of Norwegian statistics. The tables are divided into 25 chapters, according to the
Central Bureau of Statistics' standard classification of subject groups.
After a thorough examination of all statistics available, it proved appropriate to reallocate
the disposable pages in the yearbook between the various subject groups. In the 1982 edition,
importance has been attached to meet the needs for statistical data in the secondary
schools. This has, inter aha, resulted in an extension of the tables concerning national
accounts and balances. In addition, due consideration has been taken to the fact that the
common man is most concerned about people's welfare. The chapters enlightening human
and social conditions, therefore, have been somewhat extended at the expence of
the chapters dealing with the individual industries.
The Information department of the Bureau has been in charge of the editing of the yearbook.
