KEY CHALLENGES IN THE INDUSTRY Housing demand continues to outstrip supply and our sector needs to grow to respond. Meeting the high demand for new homes while also responding to the needs of customers by creating quality, well-designed affordable homes and places. A serious shortage of skills and labour are limiting the sector’s capacity to increase delivery. Balancing industry growth and high demand for housing with responsible management of finite resources and reducing operational impacts. Planning complexity and delay together with supply chain constraints are significant challenges in bringing projects forward. Crest Nicholson 07 RESPONDING TO NEW MARKETS To accelerate delivery and respond to high demand, we are developing new funding models and housing types through our tailored PRS offering. Growing demand for affordable, private rental homes is being driven by the 23-34 age group, with affordability being a key factor. To accelerate delivery and respond to this high demand, we are developing new funding models and housing types through our tailored Private Rental Sector (PRS) offering. At Bath Riverside (pictured) we have launched the UK’s first institutionally backed PRS scheme with M&G Real Estate, where we will deliver 97 apartments and a community space to meet these needs. We are also contracted to build a further 227 PRS units at Kilnwood Vale near Crawley, also in partnership with M&G Real Estate.
