I’m taking three different groups of<br />

youth typically in the age range of 13 to<br />

35.<br />

1) Teen age 13 to 17<br />

2) College-age, typically ages 18 to 24<br />

3) Young professionals, typically ages<br />

25 to 34.<br />

The teen years make life hard on parents<br />

because of a teen’s need to become<br />

independent.<br />

Although the amount of risk-seeking<br />

varies in teens, few demographic groups<br />

exceed teens in terms of risk-seeking<br />

activities<br />

Even introverted children become more<br />

extraverted in their teen years. While<br />

this does not mean an introverted teen<br />

becomes a socialite<br />

Perhaps “romantic” is not the best word<br />

to describe inexperienced teenagers, but<br />

they are often prone to describe<br />

themselves this way.<br />

High level of social needs and desires<br />

Are very interested in coeducational<br />

(mixed gender) activities. Want and<br />

need a strong voice in planning their<br />

activities.Want to take adult leadership<br />

roles.
