FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OVERVIEW FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS ARRIVALS A Standard Terminal Arrival (STAR) can be loaded at any airport that has one available. Only one arrival can be loaded at a time in a flight plan. If an arrival is loaded when another arrival is already in the active flight plan, the new arrival replaces the previous arrival. The route is defined by selection of an arrival, the transition waypoints, and a runway. LOADING AN ARRIVAL INTO THE ACTIVE FLIGHT PLAN EIS AUDIO PANEL & CNS FLIGHT MANAGEMENT Loading an arrival into the active flight plan using the PROC Key: 1) Press the PROC Key. The Procedures Window is displayed. 2) Highlight ‘SELECT ARRIVAL’. 3) Press the ENT Key. The Arrival Loading Page is displayed. 4) Use the FMS Knob to select an airport and press the ENT Key. 5) Select an arrival from the list and press the ENT Key. 6) Select a transition (if required) and press the ENT Key. 7) Select a runway (if required) and press the ENT Key. ‘LOAD?’ is highlighted. 8) Press the ENT Key to load the arrival procedure. FLIGHT MANAGEMENT Selected Arrival Loaded Arrival SYSTEM OVERVIEW FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS EIS Procedure Loading Page Selection Softkeys Viewing available arrivals at an airport: Figure 5-99 Arrival Loading 1) From the Airport Information Page (first page in the WPT group), select the STAR Softkey. The Arrival Information Page is displayed, defaulting to the airport displayed on the Airport Information Page. 2) To select another airport, press the FMS Knob to activate the cursor, enter an identifier/facility name/city, and press the ENT Key. 3) Turn the large FMS Knob to highlight the Arrival. The arrival is previewed on the map. 4) Turn the small FMS Knob to view the available arrivals. Press the ENT Key to select the arrival. The cursor moves to the Transition box. The arrival is previewed on the map. 5) Turn the small FMS Knob to view the available transitions. Press the ENT Key to select the transition. The cursor moves to the Runway box. The arrival is previewed on the map. 6) Turn the small FMS Knob to view the available runways. Press the ENT Key to select the runway. The cursor moves to the Sequence box. The arrival is previewed on the map. 7) Press the INFO-1 Softkey or the INFO-2 Softkey to return to the Airport Information Page.
