ONE FAMILY. ONE MISSION. ONE WORD: KIWIN’S

SPOTLIGHT ON SERVICE
[Small description or name] For now, these are guidelines
UNDER THE LIMELIGHT
At this time you are able to use any serif
fonts to ease the reading up. Make sure
the font size is not too small, nor too
large. Make sure to keep it organized into
columns. This font size (14 pts) and font
(Goudy Oldstyle) is only suggested, but you are
free to use whatever you like. Ensure that the
picture you choose truly captures the moment
of the spotlight event. Keep a sizeable margin to
the right of this column to make a clear divider
between columns. Have the orientation set to
center to the left of the text, not the center nor
the right.
Make sure to indent when applicable in
a new paragraph. If you have any questions, feel
free to ask me. The way that the newsletter will
be released is that I will be responsible for
changing any timestamps, like the cover or the
table of contents, for example.
Keep what you are writing interesting at
all times. It is highly suggested that both vice
presidents work on the newsletter, as unlike last
year, this newsletter is not only front and back.
There are 7 pages that must be filled, so please
manage that time adequately. Make sure to
leave space above the bottom edge to avoid
any crowding. This amount of space is
PICTURE HERE
[RELATES TO SPOTLIGHT]
Brief description of photo above
sufficient, simply move on to the next column as
the content is relevant. Make sure the margins on
the right edge and the left edge are equal, which
is indicated by the size of the photo placeholder
box from above.
You’re almost there! In this page, make
sure to create any interaction with the members as
well. What is it that makes this a spotlight???
Including any quotes from members that have to
say something about it meets this requirement,
it is there that the reader has a direct witness of
how wonderful the experience may be.
End in a happy note! You want the reader
to keep reading the newsletter! So have something
interesting about the other pages to have them flip
the page one more time!
— From December 10th to December 12th —
So and so happened at this place and that.
write a very brief summary of the event.
Include what our members did and what they
experienced through the event. Make sure to use
quotes here, as it really gets the audience to have
a direct feed of information from someone that
attended the event. You are free to include
anything you like here as long as it is relevant to
the topic, you are the reporter!
person is, and why he got member of
the month and other relevant information. To
the right are nominations of the member of the
month and what others had to say. Don’t
have as many as you can fit and still be not
so crammed in there.
KUDOS FROM THE MEMBERS
What do our members have to say about each other?
Kudos Noah!
To: Noah Basot, Gr. 11
From: Aaron Zepeda, Gr. 11
“Quote to endquote, Kudos involves a
member saying something about
another member. Include as many as you
can fit! You’re going to have to reach out
to as many people as you can in the club
to get well put Kudos, and have content”
-Aaron Zepeda
Kudos Aaron!
To: Aaron Zepeda, Gr. 11
From: Anonumous
“You must include a minimum of two
Kudos messages, and maximum will
depend on the length of each quote. Like
everything else do not compensate little
content with large font sizes!! If you have
to absolutely change the font size, and/or
the font itself, make sure it stays consistent
throughout the entire newletter. Keep the
number of varying fonts very minimal,
two maximum is not a requirement but
a suggestion from me.”
-Anonymous
Kudos Allie!
To: Allie Chang, Gr. 11
From: Noah Basit, Gr. 11
“Ensure that the quotes are nicely spaced
out and organized! Include a picture only
if space allows it, preferably include one.
That way, the reader has something to see
other than text everywhere! It has to be
relevant, like a picture of any of the
receivers, or a service project being talked
about in the Kudos.”
-Aaron Zepeda
Kudos [First Name]!
To: [Receiver], [Grade]
From: [Writer], [Grade]
“Please do not have members create onesentence
Kudos, there is no max length
requirement as long as it can fit into the
page.”
[SPECIAL OCCASION]
This is completely up to the Vice Presidents!
There is no set instruction...
as long as it is contemporary
or there is something from the past
that you want to revisit
PICTURE HERE
[PICTURE OF RELEVANCE]
You can include stuff like DCON in here, or more
information on ELIMINATE week.
You can include any ads in here as well,
and any other concluding thoughts or messages. This
is all up to your creative ability and what you believe must be
