Consider these parallels ...

The first lie on earth was ...
the devil “impersonating” a serpent.

Actors “impersonate” ...
persons (and sometimes Cars, Toys, Animals, & Insects).

Sin infected this world ...
Eve believed the serpent's lies.

Acted lies still spread like a virus ...
and some are believable too.

Babylonians worshiped false gods.
One was the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar.
“... all the
peoples, nations
and men of every
language fell down
and worshiped the
golden image ....”
{Daniel 3:7}

Fans worship celebrities like gods. The prize
for persuasive lies? A golden statue of “Oscar.”
“A fortune made
by a lying tongue
is a fleeting vapor
and a deadly snare.”
Aren't we in modern-day danger?
Why do we open our minds and souls to
other people pretending to be other people?
or things?

It's not entertainment; it's indiscreet deceit.
Even “reality TV” is not based on reality.

Whether the screen is “cinema huge” ...

or a “humble” size at home …

or in the office ...

or for the airplane's “captive audience” ...
Filth.
or on
“handy”
hand-held
“devices” ...

the devil is “devising”
to deceive us and destroy us.

Let us not be overcome.
Let us not succumb to lies.
Let us each, every moment,
guard our ears and our eyes.

The alternative to secular TV?
A select set of networks offer
family-friendly, Bible-based
inspirational programming
via satellite and internet.

What about Christian films?
There is still warranted concern.
As we are counseled to avoid the
falsehood of acted performances,
I cannot, in good conscience,
suggest even “Christian” movies.

What about “dramatized” documentaries ?
Though the messages may be “good” and even
based on “true” historical events, acting is
still lying (no matter how “convincing”).

Are cartoons okay?
Animation is not a safe solution.
It may even be worse , though appearing innocent .
Animals talking? Inanimate objects moving?
(Actors' voices being only heard, through
computer-generated cartoon characters,
doesn't make the portrayal less “diabolical.”)
Think about it ...

Do Cars, Toys, Animals, and Insects really talk?

(Consider
the
“speakingserpent
deception”
in Eden.)

And cartoons are also often very violent,
scary, and designed to promote witchcraft,
the occult, and other dangerous practices
to corrupt impressionable young minds.
Cartoons (even scriptural ones) can lead
even adult minds to prefer “unreality.”
(I didn't even want to include unreal images in this booklet!)

I suggest fleeing from all falsehood.
Search for pure truth instead.
“Scripture” (instead of “scripts”) is the best source.
Faith-based documentaries and nature
videos that glorify God as Creator are
safer alternatives for screens of any size.

Faithfully pray.
God will lovingly guide.
“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes.”
