Introduction
Generation P was a new photography competition,
challenging children aged 4-11 nationwide to take
and print a photo of something that matters to them.
Our relentless march into the digital space means we
are no longer printing photos and we are in danger
of losing the connection to our past. It’s important
that future generations take steps now to stop and
print the photos that matter to them so that they
always have physical reminders of the memories that
document their lives. This competition celebrated the
power of printing and the fact it provides us with a
physical testimony of that one memory we never want
to forget.
The quality of entries we had was immensely
heartening and this book is devoted to all the
amazing budding snappers who took part. The
photos submitted all capture the essence of what
makes the printed image so powerful, capturing
the emotion of a moment in time through the eyes
of the photographer.
