January 25 - 29, 2018 Kobe, Japan
International Choir Festival & Competition
INTERKULTUR is happy to invite choirs from all over the world in a joyful celebration of peace through singing in a brand new destination, Kobe, Japan. Considered one of Japan’s most fascinating cities, Kobe is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of the Hyōgo Prefecture. The city is only 30 km to the west of Osaka, where the Kansai International Airport is the closest international gateway.
The "Pray from Kobe Concert", as it is called in Japan, was first held in 2012 in Kobe in order to sing and pray for the victims of the huge earthquake and tsunami around Fukushima on the east side of Japan in March 2011.
More than 600 singers will be gathering in Kobe and international choirs are also invited to sing for peace in the world in the beautiful Kobe Bunka Hall.
It has never been so important for people to strive for peace in the world.
Come to Kobe with INTERKULTUR and Sing'n'Pray with us!
Hardly a sentence applies here better than that of St. Augustine: "Those who sing, pray twice!"
