Health Fairs
TCA hosted health fairs filled with fun and
health-related activities again this year at 15
TravelCenters of America/Petro Stopping Centers
throughout the country on September 16. Part of
TCA’s overall health and wellness initiative, the
fairs promote driver health and wellness during
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
This year, it included various health activities
— from games like basketball and ring toss
to exercises like those displayed on an activity
wheel — a new addition this year. The wheel
included everything from doing jumping jacks,
shooting hoops and even running a half mile;
the tougher the task, the better the prize. Nurses
were also on hand providing blood pressure and
glucose screenings.
The following truck stops hosted the health
fairs: Tonopah, Arizona (TA); North Little Rock,
Arkansas (Petro); Ontario, California, Petro
(Shawn Hubbard Ontario Stopping Center);
Wildwood, Florida (TA); Cartersville, Georgia
(TA); Boise, Idaho (TA); Clayton, Indiana (TA);
Clearwater, Minnesota (Petro); Binghamton, New
York (TA); Waterloo, New York (Petro); Lodi,
Ohio (TA); Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (TA); West
Greenwich, Rhode Island (TA); Antioch, Tennessee
(TA); and New Braunfels, Texas (TA).
