It has been identified that substantial upgrade work is required on the stormwater network due to
significant capacity constraints resulting from new developments. A study is underway to review the
stormwater system and determine the priority areas for upgrade.
Major projects include:
$614,000 stormwater upgrade Illawarra Road stage 2;
$330,000 stabilisation works to Margate Esplanade;
$225,000 stormwater upgrade to Ewing Avenue;
$114,000 stormwater upgrade to Beach Road, Middleton;
$110,000 stormwater upgrade to Taronga Road stage 2; and
$105,000 stormwater upgrade and coastal protection at Tinderbox Reserve.
8.1.4 Plant and Equipment ($1.274M)
Plant and equipment includes heavy vehicles, light vehicles and small plant.
Vehicles replacement is covered by policy. Small plant replacement is determined by adequacy of
equipment.
Major replacements include:
$275,000 replacement of the Flocom road maintenance unit;
$200,000 replacement of the 24 tonne tip truck;
$80,000 replacement of the 85hp tip truck;
$80,000 replacement truck for Bruny Island;
$63,000 replacement flat tray truck for signage team;
$53,000 replacement flat tray truck for the workshop; and
$53,000 replacement dual cab truck for Twin Ovals.
8.1.5 Other ($0.13M)
Other infrastructure includes waste management and projects related to internal improvements to
Council owned infrastructure and assets.
Major projects include:
$33,000 Bruny Island cat holding facility;
$20,000 Depot dog pound waste management system; and
$50,000 design and survey work on future projects.
