RUTTE
DISTILLING ACCORDING TO RUTTE
The spirits produced by Rutte today are the result of seven generations
of Rutte, teaching their next generation the art of distilling, always with a
passion for craft and they haven’t changed much since the beginning of the
distillery in 1872. The family’s former living room continues to welcome guests
as Rutte’s tasting room. In the back, walls of spices and botanicals surround
the Vulkaan 4, the high-tech copper pot still. Frankly, they have been a bit
stubborn about growth. But they are the custodians of a great heritage, their
zeal for craft can only be achieved through intimate production. That makes
them the smallest distillery in Holland, but that’s just the way they like it.

No.3 is the London Dry Gin distilled to a proprietary recipe of Berry Bros. &
Rudd, London’s oldest wine and spirit merchant. The name No.3 refers to the
address in St James’s Street, London: their home since 1698. The gin was
created to be the last word in gin for a Dry Martini. With juniper at its heart, it
unashamedly celebrates the integrity and character of a classic London Dry
Gin: six perfectly balanced botanicals distilled in traditional copper pot stills.

It takes hard work and determination, the same graft and tenacity that
defines Camden Lock, the historic heart of London’s gin distilling. For five
decades, all that remained of this trade were the buildings, until, in 2014, it
was revived by a vision to unearth and reinvigorate this past industrial glory.
Unconstrained by tradition, to obtain the best from each botanical, three
production methods are employed: copper pot still, vacuum distillation and
handcrafted tinctures. A unique combination for a gin that stands alone in
its colour and taste. The key botanicals: black tea, bergamot, wood, hay and
pepper. Sourced from across the globe for the highest quality, chosen with
British heritage in mind.

Del Maguey (pronounced ma–gay), Single Village Mezcal was founded in
1995 by internationally renowned artist and mezcal visionary, Ron Cooper.
Ron introduced the world to previously unavailable 100% certified organic,
artisanal mezcal produced the original handcrafted way. Through deep
cultural relationships with Zapotec Mexican Indian producers in the remote
villages of Oaxaca, Mexico, Del Maguey harnesses ancient, original organic
processes. Combining these methods with varying micro-climates and terroir
gives each creation its own unique, rich, sweet and smoky character. Every
product in our collection is made by individual family palenqueros (producers)
in old-style villages. We are the first producer to credit each product after the
village where our liquid is made. When you see our beautiful green bottles
you know it’s Del Maguey.

Los Siete Misterios Mezcal is inspired by the habits and traditions of the
Mexican culture, as well as the passion of its people who have helped to
enhance our product. Driven and motivated by these qualities, we are
searching to relive the past and integrate it with our present, to create a
visual identity that has been ours for centuries. It is about creating a familiarity,
while hoping to transmit a modern sensibility with a strong presence,
through which they all feel identified. They are a 100% Mexican company
established in 2010 with the ideal, vision and mission of rescuing the Mezcal
tradition and the micro-economy of the rural cultures that produce it.

Calle 23 starts with the careful selection of blue agave plants, sourced from
‘Los Altos de Jalisco’ (The Highlands) area, between the town of Tepatitlan
and Arandas. In this area, the agave plants benefit from hot and sunny dry
periods, followed by heavy rainy seasons, and a fertile soil, high in minerals,
which produces richer and higher quality agaves, taking 7 to 9 years to reach
full maturity.

Michter’s takes proud to honor a historical legacy tracing back to the
founding of America’s first whiskey company in 1753. Today they produce
Whiskey at the highest standards in the industry using air dried wood
for their barrels that are toasted before charring, entering their Rye and
Bourbon into the barrels at 103 proof only, heat cycling their barrels during
the aging process and selected chill filter protocols that are best suited for
each of their products.

RYE FROM THE FRENCH ALPS
The Domaine des Hautes Glaces is an organic mountain farm distillery
located in the heart of the French Alps, at Accarias pass, 3000 feet high.
Working with different grain grown and processed on site, respectful of the
land, mankind and history. Vulson is the name of a range of fully organic
rye spirits produced by the Domaine des Hautes Glaces from Rye grown
locally. This name is a testimony to the man who built the castle where the
distillery is located dating back to 1616. Marcus Vulson de la Colombière
was a French heraldist, poet, alchemist. He left his name to the area, the
fields and the pass.

In earlier times, Irishmen journeyed to America, where they forged their
character with resolve and their fists. With this in mind, we named our
whiskey Prizefight. Each bottle tells the stories of the boxing legends who
came with nothing and fought for everything. Prizefight is a collaborative
Irish whiskey, distilled and aged in Ireland, and finished in American rye
casks. The result is incredibly complex whiskey, a smooth and mellow spirit
that packs a punch but never burns.

The Order of Chartreuse was more than 500 years old when, in 1605, they
received a gift from Francois Hannibal d’Estrées, Marshal of King Henri IV’s

“Elixir of Long Life”. Today, as has been the way for 400 years, only two
monks are entrusted with the secrets of Chartreuse. These two monks are
the only people who know the recipe, the ingredients, the preparation and
production of the secret green Elixir.

Mandarine Napoléon is an exquisite, well-balanced blend of mandarins and
refined 10-year-old aged cognac. Dating back to the early 1800s, and its roots
stemming from the hands of Napoléon Bonaparte, the liqueur’s history is as
rich as its distinctive flavor. The drink was custom made for Napoléon, after
the emperor came across chemist Antoine-François de Fourcroy, known for
his extraordinary skill of distilling. It was not until 1892, after the two had
died, that the liqueur was introduced to the public.

Using the ripest and freshest lemons picket at the Amalfi Coast in Italy,
Liquore di Limone has a unique zesty aroma and a superb taste. The lemons
are picked at their optimum, in the first week of June, and then slowly macerated
for five weeks in a fine Cognac and there are no artificial colourings or
flavourings. The result is a fine liqueur with true lemon yellow colour; delicate
fresh lemon zest aromas alive with lemon flavours heightened by brisk
acidity and a classy hit of fine spirit.
