ABOUT THE AUTHORS The Center for Popular Democracy works to create equity, opportunity and a dynamic democracy in partnership with high-impact base-building organizations, organizing alliances, and progressive unions. CPD strengthens our collective capacity to envision and win an innovative pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. The Coalition for Community Schools, housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership, is an alliance of national, state and local organizations as well as national, state and local Community School networks, and is dedicated to the mission to unite school, community and family for young people’s success. The Southern Education Foundation’s mission is to advance equity and excellence in education for all students in the South, particularly low income students and students of color.
