Welcome from the Directors!

Thank you for joining us in a joyful celebration of performances from our Pre-Professional, Competitive

and Professional Training Programs. What an honour it is to be part of the development of these special

young artists, from ages 6 to 18.

Pro Arté Centre is best known for its commitment to providing holistic and inspired training to young

dancers intending to pursue a career in dance. Established over a decade ago, its graduates have been

accepted into dance programs and companies within Canada, the United States and Europe including, to

name a few, Juilliard, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Ballet BC, Ballet Theatre

UK, Alberta Ballet, Rambert & Ballet Jorgen.

Already this year Pro Arte students have excelled. Congratulations to Margot Lorette (Intermediate Ballet–

Chilliwack) and Joeli Jarvis (Junior Ballet–Chilliwack) for being selected as Provincial representatives, and

Lauren Middlemass (Senior Modern–Victoria), Ashley Rabinovitch (Intermediate Modern–Victoria) and

Taylor Nepomuceno (Junior Ballet–Chilliwack) for Provincial Alternate. At the YAGP Seattle, Kay Budworth

was selected in the in the top 12 Classical Finalists and Sophie Higgins as both a top 12 Classical

& Contemporary. At the Vienna International Ballet Experience, Savannah Stuible was a awarded a

silver medal for Classical and Sophie Derome, Adriana Bosnjak and Anja Fanslau were fi nalists in their

divisions. Ms Kim’s choreography was awarded the Best Contemporary Group. At NYCDA Washington

Pro Arte took 3 Critics Choice awards for Surge (Jnr Adv Contemp), Fallen (Pre-Inter/Inter Contemp) and

Baayo (Inter/Adv Contemp) as well as Lauren Middlemass, Ethan Ponton, Connor McLeary, Sasha Slater,

Isabella Pavelescu and Grace Byman receiving Outstanding Dancer Awards.

We are extremely proud of all our students hard work & commitment. Driven, Determined and Destined!

The Platform Society

Our Mandate:

• Advance education in performing arts and the pursuit of its excellence;

• Work together with others to promote innovative forms of education in

the arts in Greater Vancouver;

• Promote interest of the general public in performing arts through

community events; and,

• Cultivate and create career development opportunities for aspiring

performing arts professionals.

CatchingART Contemporary Ballet Theatre

Springbreak Programs:

Week 1: Monday, March 14–Friday, March 18

Technique “Maintenance Classes” with Pro Arte Faculty

Pro Arté’s CatchingART Contemporary Ballet Theatre “company experience” provides professional learning

opportunities and the development of resume performances, confi dence and profi ciency through unique

opportunities, company classes with professional guest teachers, and exposure to working with various

choreographers. Promising young artists, who are committed to a career in dance, are selected to be part

of the company each year. They receive a $2500 training scholarship (funded by the Platform Society) to

complete their advanced training level. Artists must be in Grade 11 or 12 and have an Advanced 2 level RAD

or ISTD or equivalent level technical capability and dual profi ciency in classical and contemporary techniques.
