Danish CV
CVs should be kept brief and
factual with work experience
being viewed as more important
than extra-curricular activities.
A Danish CV should be in the
following order:
• Begin with your name, address,
and contact information.
• Business qualifications follow,
based on the requirements listed
in the job advertisement, with
work experience sequenced
to match your business
qualifications.
• Education.
• Personal information, including
date of birth, marital status,
number of children,
• Nationality (as a non-native it
is advisable to clarify your work
permit status)
• Finally, you should briefly list
your outside interests.
• Newspapers
As in most countries, job
advertisements appear in the
Sunday editions of the newspapers.
The Kidon Media-Link website is a
one stop shop for links to various
regional Danish newspapers. The
main newspapers for adverts are:
• The English weekly paper
• The Copenhagen Post
• Jyllands-Posten
• Politiken
• Berlingske Tidende
• Dansk Industri: is a weekly
journal that covers a wide range
of information from trade and
industry relations and this may be
useful in your job search.
Higher
education
career
support
Students registered at higher
education institutions may want
to ask for help and advice from
the careers center located on their
university campuses. Career
support is offered in universities
to graduates by student advisers
and also by employment officers
or labour unions. The university’s
careers services is particularly
focused on facilitating the
transition from studying into
employment and is less
orientated towards providing job
placements.
