KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER EVENTS
The SSPC organised an international conference on Continuous Processing
in November 2013. This conference was held in Cork and was organised in
conjunction with SK Chemicals- Korea, Pfizer and Eli Lilly.
The conference, which was by invitation-only, was attended
by 80 internationally-leading scientists and engineers from
industry and academia representing six different countries,
namely: Ireland, UK, USA, Korea, Belgium, and Switzerland.
Invited speakers came from industry and academia and
included Steven Ley who is BP Professor of Organic
Chemistry at the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of
Trinity College Cambridge. In 2011 he was included by The
Times in the list of the “100 most important people in British
science”. The conference was attended by 80 leading
international scientists from industry and academia.
The hosting of such knowledge transfer
events are seen as an important tool
to showcase both nationally and
internationally the collaborative work
carried out within the SSPC; and in
addition providing prospective members
the opportunity to meet with the SSPC
community.
