shopping center investors, retailers focus

on attracting more consumer spending in 2016

CoStar - December 2015

“The coming year will bring a renewed focus on redevelopment of existing

centers, expansion when possible and repositioning of shopping center

properties and introduction of new retailers and formats by owners to

create buzz and ambiance to better serve their trade areas.

However, the size of shopping centers delivered next year will be smaller

than in past years as most anchor tenants remain on the sidelines and

many other retailers continue to down-size their space needs, said Grant

Gary, president of brokerage services for The Woodmont Co., based in

Fort Worth, TX. ‘Restaurants, especially fast casual; grocery, fitness, fast

fashion and discount apparel, will be the growth categories,’ said Gary. ”

Shopping Centers Today - November 2015

“Birchbox, Bonobos and Trunk Club put a priority on using real estate to

reach Millennial-age shoppers. This can give landlords with Millennialfriendly

mixed-use properties a competitive advantage, says Grant Gary,

president of brokerage services at the Fort Worth, Texas–based Woodmont

Co. “Millennials want different things,” said Gary, “so the focus becomes

much more on the entertainment component of a project, the availability of

green space and the walkability factor.”

Worth-based company’s first Austin location but several trampoline

parks have opened around town in recent years. Joseph Williams of The

Woodmont Co. represented the tenant.”

National Real Estate Investor - May 2015

“...chains such as Target and Kohl’s, staple anchors for many shopping centers,

have curtailed their annual store opening plans from 75 or 100 a year to maybe

10 new locations, according to Stephen Coslik, chairman of The Woodmont

Company, a Fort Worth, Texas-based brokerage, tenant representation,

investment, development and property management firm. The Woodmont

Company does have about six new projects in its pipeline, including properties

in North Fort Worth, Texas, Tulsa, Okla. and Wichita, Kansas, but overall,

development activity is still far from robust.”

“Real estate firm The Woodmont Company represented Firehouse Subs in acquiring four locations:

• CITY VIEW TOWNE CENTER, 4801 Bryant Irvin Road, Fort Worth

• THE SHOPS OF GRANBURY, the southwest corner of Highway 377 and Overstreet Boulevard, Granbury

• PLAZA AT CEDAR HILL, the major cross streets of Clark and Beltline roads, Cedar Hill

• ELDORADO PLAZA, northwest corner of Highway 75 at Eldorado Parkway, McKinney”

Real Estate Bisnow - April 2015

“The Woodmont Co chairman Stephen Coslik [...] will be a featured speaker on the panel. He tells us his 35-year-old company has developed more

than 10M SF of retail across 33 states. Woodmont is developing the 330k SF outlet mall, called Outlets at Alliance, at the northeast corner of Cabela
