What brought you to USC?: I came to USC because the research interests<br />

of faculty members at USC aligned with my own research interests<br />

perfectly.<br />

What do you hope to accomplish while you pursue your degree?: I feel<br />

that at USC, I will be able to continue doing research that I am passionate<br />

about. While pursuing my degree, I hope to uncover new<br />

insight into iron-sulfur cluster formation and regulation in Mycobacterium marinum.<br />

Fun fact about yourself: I love Harry Potter and haven’t been yet, but Harry Potter world is on my<br />

bucket list.<br />

What brought you to USC?: The faculty in the psychology department<br />

focuses on my area of interest and provides exceptional theoretical<br />

and practical training when it comes to current trends in our field. The<br />

<strong>Presidential</strong> <strong>Fellows</strong>hip also played a significant role in my decision,<br />

acting as the deciding factor when it came to choosing between comparable<br />

schools.<br />

What do you hope to accomplish while you pursue your degree?: While at USC, I hope to accomplish a<br />

deeper understanding of research skills in the area of psychology. I previously worked as a licensed<br />

mental health provider but did not have substantial training in non-practice elements, such as research<br />

and teaching. By the time I leave my program I hope to have a well-rounded training experience<br />

that prepares me for any career path I choose.<br />

Fun fact about yourself: I am a dedicated blues guitarist. I have grown up loving rhythm and blues<br />

and have played in some capacity for the past twenty years.<br />
