The Builders Association<br />
<strong>of</strong> Metropolitan Pittsburgh<br />
(BAMP) is one <strong>of</strong> the oldest<br />
home builder associations in the<br />
country. Founded in 1938 by a<br />
group <strong>of</strong> Pittsburgh area home<br />
buildersastheHomeBuildersAssociation<strong>of</strong>Allegheny<br />
County, it has grown to serve the home building<br />
and related industries throughout the metropolitan<br />
Pittsburgh region. BAMP was a founding member<br />
<strong>of</strong> a group <strong>of</strong> local area home builder associations<br />
that established the National Association <strong>of</strong> Home<br />
Builders (NAHB) in 1942 and the Pennsylvania Builders<br />
Association (PBA) in 1952. BAMP has an active NAHB<br />
Remodeler’s Council that focuses on improving the<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong> remodeling and education <strong>of</strong> home<br />
improvement contractors. With an eye to its future,<br />
BAMP sponsors NAHB Student Chapter organizations<br />
in eight local secondary-level career training centers<br />
throughout its service territory.<br />
In total, BAMP represents nearly 600 small businesses<br />
whostrivetoimprovehousingaffordability,availability<br />
and choice. BAMP members, past and present, have<br />
a long history <strong>of</strong> service to the housing industry and<br />
its association at the local, state and national levels.<br />
Many <strong>of</strong> today’s members are second, third and<br />
in some instances fourth generation home builders<br />
and tradesman who have honorably and faithfully<br />
served their customers, industry and customers. Our<br />
members adhere to a code <strong>of</strong> ethics and take great<br />
pride in the quality product they produce for their<br />
customers in the neighborhoods where they work<br />
and live.<br />
For over 60 years, the Builders Association <strong>of</strong><br />
Metropolitan Pittsburgh, its sponsoring companies<br />
and participating builders and remodelers have<br />
made it possible for consumers the ability to tour<br />
