Medicine Hat Culture Days 2016 celebrates and showcases the city's diverse arts, heritage, creative<br />
industries and artistic practices. From September 22 nd to October 2 nd , Hatters are encouraged to<br />
participate in a wide array of events and presentations throughout the City. The activities will<br />
culminate with a three day culture filled weekend from Friday, September 30 th to Sunday, October 2 nd<br />
for the whole community to experience the vibrant cultural life of the City.<br />
Medicine Hat Culture Days 2016 is part of the larger provincial network of celebrations known as<br />
Alberta Culture Days. Alberta Culture Days began in 2008 as a one-day event to recognize the value<br />
of Alberta's arts and cultural communities. In the beginning, Alberta Culture Days featured 100<br />
events in 30 communities across the province. Since that time, it has become an annual event that<br />
has helped inspire the creation of a pan-Canadian movement known as Culture Days, which raises<br />
the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural<br />
life of their communities.<br />
Last year, thousands of Hatters celebrated our culture at over 25 events in our community. This year<br />
Medicine Hat Culture Days 2016 again offers a multitude of opportunities to discover and experience<br />
how our culture contributes to the vibrancy and prosperity of where we live.<br />
