regard, information and knowledge<br />

must be shared between broker and<br />

insurer regularly and profoundly so as to<br />

ensure that consumers are properly<br />

and efficiently served and protected.<br />

The truly professional insurance broker<br />

will understand exactly what the insurer<br />

has produced and why – and will then<br />

have to translate that knowledge and<br />

information to the consumer while<br />

matching the right product to the precise<br />

consumer need. Thirdly, brokers must<br />

continue to build trust – trust with<br />

suppliers – and surely trust with clients<br />

and future clients. Brokers will have to do<br />

this through greater and ongoing intimacy<br />

with clients. They must communicate<br />

with clients better than ever before.<br />

They must continue to support and<br />

be involved in selected community<br />

and charitable events and causes so as<br />

to induce insurance customers to feel<br />

totally comfortable and safe with respect<br />

to utilizing the services of their broker<br />

well beyond any other means or ways<br />

of customers selecting their insurance<br />

protection. In addition, brokers will have<br />

to create 24-7 availability – whether in<br />

person or through digital means. When<br />

customers shop – and no matter how<br />

they shop – the insurance broker they<br />

find and select is obligated to be open<br />

for business. Customer default to an<br />

adverse or alternative selection must be<br />

avoided. Finally, brokers must not only<br />

far exceeding any other party – the<br />

consumers on a day-to-day basis.<br />

This can and must also be the case in<br />

the digital arena.<br />

And the interesting thing is this –<br />

maximizing the key to winning must<br />

all be done amongst the fierce business<br />

competition within which insurance<br />

brokers will continually engage. This is<br />

a good thing. Increased and more<br />

severe competition in the marketplace<br />

will enhance broker professionalism.<br />

It will add to creating and finding<br />

the means of survival, growth and<br />

success – which again, are to be found<br />

in delivering personal and professional<br />

service to the insurance consumer.<br />

The professional and experienced<br />

insurance broker – through both local<br />

and multi-jurisdictional brokerages,<br />

can and must do this better than<br />

any other market player. Insurance<br />

brokers are required to be the best of<br />

professionals - and it will be exploding<br />

broker professionalism that will cause<br />

brokers to win in an ever-changing<br />

market place. Broker professionalism<br />

is the key to success – for if it is done<br />

right - no one will provide better or care<br />

more for the consumer than the best<br />

insurance broker. Brokers should not<br />

play small and should not settle for less.<br />

They must continue to operate with<br />

desire, drive and dedication - and they<br />

must persist. If done right – brokers will<br />

win – and that means the insurers win,<br />

the industry wins – and everyone wins<br />

- and the customer’s best insurance will<br />

always be an insurance broker!!!<br />
