WEEKLY NEWS AT CO-OP SCHOOL
RAZkids Reading Awards
The top Readers in every elementary classroom
were awarded an Award and a $10 gift certificate
from Payless at Friday’s Assembly.
*Altogether these readers read a total of 440
hours and 54 minutes on RAZkids since October

Elementary Clubs This Week
Homework Club- 3:15 to 4 pm, Monday, Wed.,
Thurs. for Pre-K to 5 th grade students
Swim Club- Swim Club will be held the 2 nd and
4 th Wednesday of each month.
This week, students will meet Wednesday,
9/14 at 4:00 pm at the MIR beach for
interested Kindergarten to 5 th grade students

Iakwe Parents and Families,
Thank you for your continued support this school year. Below you will find
important updates for the upcoming weeks.
Mid-quarter progress reports have been sent home for students
in grades Kindergarten to 5 th . If you have not received your child’s
progress report, it will be sent home on Monday 9/12/2016. This
will explain your student’s current classroom performance.
The General PTA Meeting originally scheduled for 9/13/2016 has
been CANCELED. Classroom Representatives will contact their
parents about Manit Week Activities.
Due to the date change with Manit Week and Manit Day, the
updated Co-op Calendar is as follows:
September 23- Teacher In-service Day, No School for
September 29- Manit Week Celebrations at Co-op
School. There will be more information about this in
Parasitic Diseases Health Screening
from Taiwan Health Center
The Taiwan Health Center has decided to return
to Co-op to allow additional time for 1 st to 6 th
grade students to return their specimen sample
and consent form. Students can return these to
the office Monday (9/12) or Tuesday morning
The Taiwan Health Center will pick up the
specimen samples from the office and they will
return on September 13 at 9 am to measure the
height and weight of students participating. If
your child has not yet participated in this
screening and you agree to having your child
participate, please bring the informed consent and
the stool specimen in a plastic container to
school anytime by Tuesday morning at 9 am. This
can be delivered directly to the office when your
child arrives at school.
September 30- Manit Day at the Alele Museum- School
will be held at the Alele Museum. There will be more
information included in future newsletters.
