Showguide | MWF16 | Wealden Times Midwinter Fair 2016

Welcome to Wealden Times Midwinter Fair. For all of us at Wealden Times, Christmas really begins with our Midwinter Fair. Although we've been working on the show for months, it is a truly magical moment when the doors open to the public on the first morning and the tented village of Seven inter-connected marquees becomes a beautiful Christmassy bazaar filled with talented artisans, designers and businesses showcasing their wares. Now in its 8th year, Wealden Times Midwinter Fair will be at The Hop Farm Paddock Wood for the first time this November. Two hundred and fifty hand-picked exhibitors will be selling gifts, fashion, homewares, decorations and food – in fact everything you need to create the perfect Christmas. Do come with friends and make a day of it. A Street Food marquee and pretty Tea Tent will provide delicious food and drink and the opportunity to take a break and enjoy some great people-watching! We do hope you will join us for a wonderful day of inspired shopping and socialising at our fabulously festive fair.

Christmas is
all about giving
We asked our sponsors, Harpers & Hurlingham,
for their views on the subject…
Giving back seems to be a big part of your company ethos at Harpers &
Hurlingham. Do you have a special office charity and why did you choose it?
We aim to get involved in as many charities as we can. Being predominantly
a female team our chosen office charity is Break Through Breast Cancer.
What fundraising activities have you and the team got involved with?
We have participated in the Moon Walk through London for breast cancer. This involved
walking through the streets of London throughout Saturday night, finishing around 4.00am
in the morning – and our office was still open the next day! We are also asked to sponsor
people’s challenges for numerous other charities and have great pleasure in doing so.
I know the community is very important to you, have you
got involved in giving back in a local sense?
The local community is very important to us, without its support we would not
be here. Giving back is so important to us and we do this by sponsoring local
village fetes or fun days, local school events, Christmas fairs and many others.
On a personal level, ladies, what’s the best gift you’ve ever given?
This is such a difficult question! I love giving and, in all honesty, finding
time to spend with my family is the best gift I can give. – Jane Beard
One of the best gifts I have given was some homemade chocolates, it was so
pleasurable to give something I had made rather than bought. – Debbie
The best gift you can give is not something materialistic but your love and time. – Dianne
I gave someone a food hamper and money anonymously as they were struggling. – Chez
