The Pig Returns!

For all of you "new
kids" in the club, let me tell
you about The Pig. Don and
I joined the Maverick
Region in 1987. We attended
many events and always
enjoyed the Founder's Day
Awards Banquet even
though we never won a driving
award. During Bob
Knight's reign as Prez, he
took pity on us and presented
us with the Piggy Award.
Piggy Award? Well, we didn't
autocross or race and
quite often were "dead last,
but finished" in the rallies,
but by golly, we attended
every dinner meeting. Then
came my term as vice-president
and the Piggy Award
competition was established.
Cards were handed out
and credit given for each
dinner meeting attended,
cocktail hour optional. Once
Miss Piggy (aka Linda
Bambina) heard about this,
she rearranged her busy
schedule in order to fly in
from Hollywood and be the
presenter for this prestigious
porky award. This continued
for several years then -
gasp - Piggy disappeared.
Oh, what a sad story.
The Pigster has been in
and out of fat farms for the
past few years. We are happy
to report all is well, he looks
great and is ready to join in
the Maverick festivities once
again. H. Peter Pig, "Piggy"
to his friends spent part of
the summer with Teri and
Charlie Davis and asked if
he could ride with them to
the Milwaukee Parade.
Well, it turns out he had
a great time at Parade and
didn't even gain a pound!
Watch out: The Pig has
returned!
