Member Spotlight: Jill & Scott Williams Andrea Bell, Public Relations Chair This month’s spotlight is on new members Jill and Scott Williams. Jill and Scott own a beautiful white Carrera 911 4S. They actually purchased the car on the day after Thanksgiving this past year. They went shopping for a vacuum cleaner and came home with the car. In case you were wondering, they got the vacuum too! Jill said, “It was a pricey one, that’s for sure!” When Jill and Scott got married, they had a company car and a 1990 Mazda RX7 Turbo. It was a great, racy red car that they thought moved pretty nicely. They sold it just before the birth of their first son who is now 18. Since then, she has been driving anything that can fit 3 boys comfortably, mostly GMC Yukon XLs. Scott has been driving Mercedes sedans. Now that the boys have (or will have) their own rides, they have been contemplating a revival of youthful ideas. Scott loves motorcycles, but Jill is not too keen on the danger aspect of driving around Dallas. She shared, “It’s not his driving that I’m worried about, it’s everyone else’s!” Subsequently, he always has been fond of his first car, a VW Bug. Before they were married, he almost bought a Porsche 924, but went with a Toyota Supra instead. Jill added, “This Porsche has replaced all of his desires for a motorcycle. We both feel it is VERY fun to drive and truly a sports car experience.” As mentioned, Jill and Scott have 3 boys. They are 13 (almost 14), 15 (almost 16), and 18. Their 18 year old would have suggested we purchase a GT3, GT2 or GTS. She added, “Maybe on the next one.” They have both been in the DFW area nearly all of their lives. Jill and Scott work in their company and when time permits, enjoy playing golf. Of course, they have things keeping them busy with the boys. She said, “We are interested in participating in Porsche events, including driver instruction and racing on a track.” I think they are “on track” for making that happen! Look for Jill and Scott (and the boys) at a future event and please extend a warm Maverick welcome.
