Apple Cider Vinegar is absolutely disgusting. I’m not going to lie to
you…I hate the stuff.
I mean I really, truly and utterly think its taste is repulsive!
OK, ok, so I’m not making a great case for good old Apple Cider
Vinegar (ACV) that most of the entire internet is going crazy for. But
as you will come to understand about Health Form; I don’t really care
what people think and I just want to tell the truth.
So with that in mind you should understand something: Apple Cider
Vinegar is really good for your health. Really, really good.
Even though the rest of the internet is conveniently missing out the
fact that it tastes awful, it is certainly true that the health benefits of
ACV are meaningful and numerous.
If you can just get over your initial gag reflex, you will be
pleasantly surprised with how your body reacts to this magical
elixir, (NOTE: it is not magical and it is only vinegar at the end
of the day, but it does do wonders for your body!).
What is Apple Cider Vinegar, (and Why Are People Going nuts for it)?
Do you know what people used to treat ailments, before the advent of synthetic chemical compounds?
Apple cider vinegar has long been known to be a fantastic, traditional method that helps cure a number of
different health issues.
1/12

To understand apple cider vinegar, we must first understand what vinegar is and for that we have to go back in
time… around 5,000 years ago in fact!
As with all good discoveries, (read penicillin), it was discovered by someone with some untidy habits. Essentially
it was discovered when grape juice turned into wine and then after what I can only imagine was a long time…into
vinegar!
Upon its discovery it was used to preserve food, but obviously after many years of people eating vinegar infused
food, somebody clocked onto the fact that people were getting healthier and decided that it must be an amazing,
healthy antidote to almost every single ailment imaginable.
I actually find this interesting because they must have eaten a ton of vinegar flavoured food, but still decide it
was worth using to help with their health.
However I am glad that they saw past this and pushed onwards with it, because it meant that we now have a
massive history of evidence to look back on and see it benefits.
A little bit more history
You may have heard of an ancient Greek named Hippocrates, of the Hippocratic Oath fame?
Well he used apple cider vinegar for a myriad of reasons including but not limited to:
Poison Ivy
Croup
Stomach aches
Diabetes
Although vinegar actually means “sour wine” in French; it can really be made from any kind of carb that is
possible to be fermented, which includes apples of course!
2/12

The traditional method of making vinegar (PDF), is to leave it for a very long time to ferment and become very
rich in certain healthy components like:
Acetic acid
Gallic acid
Catechin
Epicatechin
Caffeic acid
These components give vinegar its incredible antioxidant and antimicrobial features, along with many other quite
amazing benefits.
As reported in Medscape General Medicine:
“The slow methods are generally used for the production of the traditional wine vinegar, and the
culture of acetic acid bacteria grows on the surface of the liquid and fermentation proceeds slowly
over the course of weeks or months.
The longer fermentation period allows for the accumulation of a non-toxic slime composed of
yeast and acetic acid bacteria, known as the mother of vinegar.”
“Mother” of vinegar, a cobweb-like amino acid-based substance found in unprocessed, unfiltered vinegar,
indicates your vinegar is of the best quality.
Most manufacturers pasteurize and filter their vinegar to prevent the mother from forming, but the “murky” kind is
best, especially if you’re planning to consume it.
Basically, vinegar is fantastic for a whole raft of things, not limited to merely your health.
So I will go through this massive list and break it down into different sections. Feel free to jump to whichever
point you are most interested in.
10 Health Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar
Using ACV is not a doctor approved method for being healthy, and sort of an old wives tale to be honest.
That said the anecdotal evidence is pretty overwhelming and I can also vouch for the fact that I feel better in
myself and my hair and skin is much better after just 2 months of taking it daily.
Vinegar is known to have a beneficial effect on the body’s blood sugar levels and is also anti-glycemic.
It is believed that the acetic acid contained in vinegar might lower blood sugar through preventing complex
carbohydrates from being completely digested, which is either accomplished through the bodily tissues
increasing their glucose uptake or through accelerating gastric emptying.
Diabetes
According to one theory, vinegar may inactivate some digestive enzymes which break carbohydrates down into
sugar, which slows complex carbohydrates being converted into sugar into your bloodstream following a meal.
That provides more time to your body to pull sugar from your blood, which prevents the spiking of your sugar
levels. A great deal of research also supports vinegar being used as a form of diabetic treatment.
According to one study vinegar treatment resulted in improved insulin sensitivity for 19% of people with type
2 diabetes as well as 34 percent of individuals with pre-diabetes.
Another study found that when two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar was taken before going to bed it lowered
blood sugar levels by as much as 6 percent by the next morning in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
Heart Health
Heart health is supported by vinegar in several ways.
The Journal of Food Science explains that polyphenols like chlorogenic acid, which apple cider vinegar has high
levels of, may inhibit oxidation of LDLS and make improvements to health through the prevention of
cardiovascular diseases.
It was shown by one study that in laboratory rats vinegar can lower cholesterol.
Another study with rats found that the acetic acid contained in vinegar could lower blood pressure.
In animal studies it has also been found that vinegar decreases VDL levels (damaging type of cholesterol) and
triglyceride levels.
Weight Loss
Vinegar might also help with losing weight.
It appear that it has an anti-obesity effect through increasing satiety, which reduces how much food you
consume.
For example, when a small dose of vinegar was consumed by volunteers with a high-carb meal (juice and a
bagel) they ate less food during the rest of the day.
This reduction equaled around 200-275 calories per day. This amount was enough to lose around 1.5 pounds in
a month.
Other research also found that taking vinegar with bread lowered insulin and glucose responses and also
increased satiety levels.
5/12

The satiety level related directly to the vinegar’s acetic acid level.
Sinus Congestion
Another thing that apple cider vinegar helps with is breaking up and reducing the mucous within your body, which
helps to clear out your sinuses.
In addition, is has antibacterial properties, which helps with infections.
Sore Throat
Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties that might also help with sore throats.
Gargle with a mixture of warm water and around one-third cup of apple cider vinegar.
Acid Reflux and Digestion
Typically acid reflux result from not having enough acid inside your stomach.
Your acid content can easily be improved by mixing one tablespoon of unfiltered raw apple vinegar into a large
glass of water and drinking it every day.
The pectin contained in apple cider vinegar might help with soothing intestinal spasms as well.
Skin Irritations
Various skin ailments can be helped by apple cider vinegar, ranging from sunburn to poison ivy and bug bites.
It can either be applied to the irritated area directly or you can soak in a bath and add one cup of vinegar to the
water.
Warts
When apple cider vinegar is topically applied it can help with removing warts, most likely due to the high acetic
acid levels that it contains.
You can also soak a cotton ball with vinegar and then apply it your wart and cover it overnight.
Boosts Energy
Enzymes and potassium are contained in apple cider vinegar that helps to get rid of fatigue.
In addition, amino acids might help with preventing lactic acid from building up inside your body, which help to
prevent fatigue even more.
Lower Esophageal Cancer Risk (NOT medical substitute)
One study showed that consuming apple cider vinegar lower esophageal cancer risk. Apple cider vinegar, in
clinical trials, has been to shown to slow cancerous cell growth inside the prostate ¹.
The Gerson Institute – which is a cancer research and treatment leader – fight cancer using a therapy where the
body is alkalized to inhibit cancer growth since cancer is unable to survive within an alkaline environment.
Your body is naturally alkalized by apple cider vinegar.
6 Apple Cider Vinegar For Household Use
6/12

In general, distilled white vinegar can be used around your household, and cider vinegars, which are made out of
fermenting fruits like apples, may be consumed.
If you prefer, apple cider vinegar can be used for household purposes also.
Natural Cleaning
When it comes to natural cleaning agents, vinegar is among the best around.
That is mainly due to the antimicrobial properties that it contains that makes it such a fantastic natural mildew
remover!
When it is added with food, vinegar’s organic acids (particularly the acid) gets passed into cell membranes,
which kills bacteria.
Foods that have been fermented in vinegar will have a completely natural and complete arsenal of powerful
antimicrobial organic acids, which include:
Tartaric
Succinic
Propionic
Malic, citric
Ascorbic,
Lactic & Acetic acids
One study found that acetic acid was lethal even with E. coli O157:H7.
Other studies have shown that substances like lemon juice, acetic acid or a combination of vinegar and lemon
juice can effectively fight salmonella.
Great For Naturally Cleaning:
Tile Floors
Windows
Mirrors
Microwaves
Ovens
Toilets
Super Secret Microwave Cleaning Formula!
1 cup of water and ½ cup of apple cider vinegar and mix in a glass bowl
Microwave for 5 minutes
Remove the bowl from the microwave
Wipe the microwave dry with a clean cloth
How does this work?
Essentially the steam from the Apple Cider Vinegar mixture dissolves all of the hardened stains. Just wiping with
7/12

a cloth is enough to get rid of most of the worst stains!
Vegetable and Fruit Wash
Vinegar is among the best natural agents you can use to remove certain bacteria and pesticides from fresh
produce.
Try using a solution of 90 percent water and 10 percent vinegar as a bath to soak produce in briefly.
How To Use
Place your fruit or vegetables in the solution, swirl them around in it, and then thoroughly rinse them.
NOTE: This process shouldn't be used on fragile fruits such as berries since that can damage them in the
process or they could also soak too much of the vinegar up due to their skins being so porous.
Weed Killer
Vinegar can be very effective at controlling weeds inside your garden.
The following is the Dirt Doctor’s (Howard Garrett) vinegar-based herbicide recipe (the spray will injure what
plants it touch, so make sure you only use it on plants you want to get rid of):
Herbicide Formula
1 gallon 100 grain (10 percent) vinegar
1 ounce d-limonene or orange oil
1 tablespoon molasses (this is optional - some people claim it doesn't really help)
1 teaspoon of liquid soap, Bio Wash or some other surfactant
Do not add any water
Neutralizes Odors
Placing apple cider vinegar inside a bowl can help with neutralizing odors inside your house including removing
smoke and refrigerator odors in a non chemical manner.
Keep Ticks & Fleas at Bay
Fleas hate vinegar…nearly as much as I do!
However this is an added benefit to all you pet owners who are looking a completely natural way to keep your
beloved animals tick and flea free naturally!
White vinegar is also fine but Apple Cider Vinegar doesn’t taste as bad for your pets when they ultimately
decided to lick themselves clean!
fungus to thrive.
Drink
1 teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar into half a cup of water daily to drink
Topical Application
