The sanding belt consists of
easily interchangeable sanding
brush segments
.
Roba-Tech
… sanding method
The patented Roba-Tech
principle is essentially different
to all known sanding systems.
The sanding belt of the Roba-Tech
is equipped with interchangeable
brush segments, covers the work
piece during the complete process
period steadily and complete. This
increases the sanding effectiveness
considerably.
The Roba-Tech is equipped with
three different sanding options:
Rotation function:
The sanding belt rotates with free
programmable sanding belt- and
rotation velocities above the workpiece.
Oscillation function:
The sanding belt oscillates with free
programmable parameters above the
work piece. The parameters are set in a way
that a full 360° rotation of the belt is
guaranteed, while pieces go through the
machine.
Sanding belt function:
The sanding belt works without movement
like a wide belt sander.
The rotation-, the sanding belt- and the feed
speeds are free programmable at the PLC control
panel.
The individual setting of the machine makes it
possible to adjust all needed parameters to customer
demands. As an example it may be necessary to sand
a massive work pieces in a determined zone more
demanding or more gentle.
In this way the operator is able to program and
save up to 99 different options.
An extremely capable sanding system requires
also an effective work piece transport system.
Therefore a new vacuum transport device was
developed for the Roba-Tech. This is able to hold all
conceivable parts economically.
An ingenious channel system in connection
with the high performance ventilator and the air repatriation
system guarantees an unproblematic use of the machine.
The feed belt is absolutely maintenance free.
Roba-Tech
Surface sanding machine
The Roba Tech sanding principle
The main idea of the Roba Tech principle is to avoid the main disadvantage of all
today known rotation brush sanding machines: Those who work normally with sanding
rolls and a diameter of about 350 mm are only in a very small area in touch with the
workpiece, about 40 mm.
Only in the vertex of the radius of the tool a sanding process is possible. To
compensate the very small sanding area normal sanding systems have to increase
their rotation speed to a high degree. Only this way they have a chance to get
nearly the same effectiveness. But this results a “hard touch” of the sanding paper
which leads to an aggressive behavior on the edges, high temperatures and wavy
optic of the material. Hurt edges and totally denibbed surfaces are often the
result.
The innovative and patented Roba Tech is equipped with a totally new
developed sanding belt containing 246 sanding strips and provides a sanding
area of approx. 1600 x 1300 mm in touch with the workpiece and more than
300 meters of sanding material on the aggregates. This is unique on the
market of brush sanding machines.
A 360 ° rotation of the sanding aggregate makes it possible to reach all
edges and corners of a workpiece.
Due to the by this means enlarged sanding effectiveness the machine is
able to get best cutting results by lowest rotation speeds.
As a result of this, low movement speeds let the sanding strips slide
gently into the milled grooves and sand them every effectively.
Many by SPS adjustable sanding options help the operator to set the
machine to his special sanding requirements.
The advantages of the Roba Tech principle summarized:
1. Large abrasives quantities make low movement speeds possible,
at the same effectiveness.
2. The rotational sanding head ensures a consistent sanding in all workpiece areas.
3. A large sanding area covers the workpiece totally while proceeding.
4. Free PLC programmable sanding parameter to optimize results.
5. A perfected vacuum system guarantees that even drawers can be feeded surely.
6. A "pulling" sanding avoids wavy surfaces and penetrates deeply into the milled
grooves.
7. The low rotational speed guarantees long abrasive lifespan because the sanding
segments do not hit the work piece edges that hard.
8. Abrasive configuration is freely eligible from the MB Flex system.
… operation areas
Due to the double brush
sanding aggregate
construction it is
guaranteed, that one
aggregate always works
counter clock wise, the other
clock wise.
The brush aggregate diameter
of 630 mm, only implemented by
MB Maschinenbau, makes it
possible to decrease the speed of
rotation while the dragging speed
still remains the same. This way the
disadvantages of usual brush
aggregates with lower diameters,
which have to rotate with high speeds
for the same effeciveness, are avoided.
The Roba BIG principle is easily said
in this one sentence:
Large diameter =
optimal dragging speed at the lowest
aggregate rotation and highest feed
speed possible!
Therefore best results are guaranteed.
Depending on the production parameters
and quality demands further aggregates can be
installed. To ensure better edge processing
these additional aggregates may be inclined by
20°.
As a standard design the Roba BIG brushing
machine is delivered with High Grip transport belt
and pressure roles. This constellation offers the best
costs/use effect for flat and bigger pieces.
However smaller pieces have to be sanded or the
variant is chosen with the aggregates arranged at an
angle, a vacuum transport system is required.
MB Maschinenbau guarantees effective working
and completely maintenance and wear resistant vacuum
carpet that all parts are held safely by the vacuum
transport.
All types of machines stand out due to ruggedness and
simple handling.
Roba-Profile
Profile sanding machine
The Roba Profile sanding principle
The main idea of the ROB sanding principle is the clockwise sanding followed
immediately by counter clockwise sanding: Only in this way it is ensured that,
independently of the wood grain structure, all upstanding „hairs“ are denibbed.
The Roba Profile machine in all its configurations is build for sanding moldings
found in various furniture, window and joinery companies. Solid, veneered or
lacquered.
In the main configuration the Roba Profile machine contains two rotational
sanding heads and a pressure roll system. Set up in this way it is a solid basic
layout for those customers who wish an optimized price-performance ratio.
Due to the modular construction of the Roba Profile series, the machine can be
configured to every customers demand. E.g. an eight head machine is able to
sand profiled moldings from all four sides.
Equipped with the MB Flex brush systems the machine is very easy and fast
maintained and set up for a new profile.
Divergently to the known systems based on sanding belts the Roba Profile
brush system forgive a not strictly exact setting of the aggregates.
Centralized set up for the side guides and the top pressure roll devices
make sure that even not experienced personnel is able to maintain such a
machine. In only a couple of minutes a Roba Profile is ready to
proceed.
Further on this machine type is used for intermediate lacquer sanding.
For that often feeds speeds up to 100 m/min. are necessary.
The standard working breadth is 150mm, as an option some
customers desire 300 mm.
The advantages of the ROB principle summarized:
1. Clockwise followed by counter clockwise sanding ensures best
results.
2. Pressure roll system will hold workpieces from 330 mm safely.
Piece-by-piece feeding of shorter parts is also possible.
3. Centralized set up for the side guides and top pressure system.
4. Very easy maintenance and set up.
5. Best offer for small investments.
6. Infinite variable setting of the head rotations and feed speed.
7. Tool free set up of the sanding aggregates.
8. High feed speeds are technical possible.
9. Modular construction meets every customers demand without
complicating the machine.
10. Abrasive configuration is freely eligible from the MB Flex system.
Roba-Belt
Profile sanding machine
The Roba Belt sanding principle
The main idea of the Roba Belt principle is to avoid the main disadvantage of all
today known rotational brush sanding machines: Those who work normally with
sanding rolls and a diameter of about 350 mm are only in a very small area in touch
with the workpiece, about 30 mm.
Only in the vertex of the radius of the tool a sanding process is possible. To
compensate the very small sanding area normal sanding systems have to increase
their rotation speed to a high degree. Only this way they have a chance to get
the needed effectiveness. But this results a “hard touch” of the sanding paper
which leads to an aggressive behavior on the edges, high temperatures and wavy
optic of the material. Hurt edges and totally denibbed surfaces are often the
result.
The innovative and patented Roba Belt is equipped with a totally new
developed sanding belt containing 138 sanding strips and provides a sanding
area of approx. 700 x 300 mm in touch with the workpiece and more than
70 meters of sanding material on the aggregates. This is unique in the
market of brush sanding machines for profiled moldings.
The Roba Belt machine in all its configurations is build for sanding
moldings found in various furniture, window and joinery companies. Solid,
veneered or lacquered. Especially in the flooring industry this machine is
often used, due to the very high feed speeds necessary.
Due to the modular construction of the Roba Belt series, the machine
can be configured to every customers demand, even for a four sided
sanding layout.
In the main configuration the Roba Belt machine contains one RB300
sanding head and a pressure roll system. Configurated in this way it is
a solid basic layout for those customers who wish an optimized
price-performance ratio.
Equipped with the MB Flex brush systems the machine is very easy
and fast maintained and set up for a new profile.
Divergently to the known systems based on sanding belts the Roba
Belt brush system forgives a not strictly exact setting of the
aggregates. Centralized set up for the side guides and the top
pressure roll devices make sure that even not experienced
personnel is able to maintain such a machine. In only a couple
of minutes a Roba Belt is ready to proceed.
Further on this machine type is used for intermediate lacquer
sanding. For that often feeds speeds up to 100 m/min. are
necessary and often required by the customers.
The standard working breadth is 300mm, as an option
500 mm is also available.
Example of application
The advantages of the Roba Belt principle summarized:
1. Large amounts of sanding paper allows high feed speeds while being highly
effective.
2. Pressure rolls feed parts from 1100 mm length safely. Feeding piece-by-piece of
shorter parts is also possible.
3. Centralized set up for the side guides and top pressure system.
4. Very easy maintenance and set up.
5. A "pulling" sanding avoids wavy surfaces and penetrates deeply into the milled
grooves.
6. Infinite variable set up of the head rotations and feed speed.
7. High feed speeds are technical possible.
8. Modular construction meets every customers demand without complicating the
machine.
Roba-Duplex
… sanding method
The Roba Simplex/Duplex
consists of one or two sanding
areas of 100 mm.
The height adjustment is done
pneumatically in fast movement
mode.
In this machine two different sanding
paper settings can be used.
For example for rough wood sanding
a grid 120 is placed in the upper belt,
while in the lower belt contains a grid
180 for the fine finishing. The change of
the sanding areas is done by
pneumatically enforced movement with
the use of a manual switch.
That means that no pre settings are needed.
The system is based on a sanding belt system
instead of rotating brushes. The advantages
compared to rotating brushes are obvious:
The work pieces must only be pressed against
the sanding belt and not, compared to a normal
brush system, be moved from right to left
through the brush. This results in considerable lower
processing time.
Roba-Flat
… sanding method
Roba-Flat sanding
solution for single piece
window frame production.
The system: single pieces,
treated with a complete
dip impregnation reach at the
end of the plant its removal and
final check place.
Parts are manually taken off
the plant and checked.
Work pieces with slightly
rough areas caused by the different
quality of the wood or milling tools
must be sanded.
That’s where the Roba-Flat is used:
The employee, since he holds the
work piece already in his hands, can
use the simple Roba- Flat method
to get an optimal sanding result.
The flat parts of the work piece are sanded
in area 1 with the short sanding paper.
This area is 150 mm wide.
The side mouldings are sanded in area 2
since the slim slotted paper is able to get into
the depths easily.
This area is 100 mm wide.
In this way the four-sided dragging process
lasts only a few seconds and does not strain the
employee due to the ergonomically favourable
form of the "lying" dragging aggregate.
A simple, very effective method, that the budget
won't charge excessively.
But the Roba Flat has also its rights in the skilled
crafts and industrial plants: Its construction makes it
possible to sand a big variety of parts of the production
fast and clean. 3 D formed, moulded and small
portions are no problem for this machines, the two
dragging areas can be set up according to
customer needs.
