After a refurbishment, Wotton House

has been transformed into a prestigious

country house hotel in Surrey delivering

an extraordinary setting for stays,

breaks, conferences, training,

weddings and events.

Now positioned as a leading venue in

Surrey and just minutes from junction 9

of the M25 and close to Gatwick airport,

the Wotton House refurbishment has

taken the hotel from a more traditional

feel to a contemporary modern and

stylish look.

The ground floor transformation has

added warmth to the reception and

lounge areas and created an improve

ambience through an extension on the

Orangery Bar which overlook the

wonderful Grade 2 listed gardens.

This look and feel has been translated

across the Old Library, drawing room,

morning room and bedrooms.

Wotton House is easily accessibly

by air, rail, or car. It's situated on

the A25 between Guildford and

Dorking, within easy reach of

London and the main motorways.

The nearest train station is

Dorking, 4 miles away.

The Manor of Wotton was first

documented in 1086. The name

literally means ‘the farm by the

wood’ from the early Saxon words

wudu and tum.

After the second world war, Wotton

house was used as a fire service

college for thirty years. After that it

became a British Telecom training

centre until 1986. It then remained

vacant awaiting refurbishment until

its lease was acquired by Hayley

conference centres in 2000.

Principal Hayley acquired the lease

in 2007 and has continued to

develop Wotton House to the

present day.

Referencing the wonderful and

diverse history of Wotton House,

the new look combines modern

style with sophisticated heritage

and begins as you arrive at the

hotel.
