One of the most versatile weapons in the NFL, the
Eagles acquired Darren Sproles in a trade with the
New Orleans Saints and signed the back to a twoyear
extension during the 2014 offseason. In July
2016, Sproles signed his second Eagles contract: a
one-year extension that will keep him in Philadelphia
through 2017. The multi-dimensional threat at
running back, receiver and returner has led the NFL
in all-purpose yards since 2007 and all running backs
in receiving touchdowns and receiving yards during
that span. One of the league’s premier return men
since entering the league as a fourth-round pick of
the Chargers in 2005, Sproles has nine career return
touchdowns on both punts (seven) and kickoffs (two).
