J e s u s w a s N O T a r e l i g i o u s M a n Continued from page 1 wrong doing. Or what they perceived was wrong. Religion won’t save you. Going to a building called church faithfully won’t save you. Alms deeds won’t save you. Even paying your tithes and offerings like the bible teaches won’t save you either but is a commandment. God requires us to offer our bodies a LIVING sacrifice unto Him every day. You will find that in Romans 12:12. Meaning He wants to be first in your desire, efforts, finances, faith and everything else in your life. Religion can’t do that. According to Hebrews 11:6, the ONLY thing that pleases God is faith. “But WITHOUT faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”. Another place in the bible, we learn that whatsoever is not of faith is sin. This may seem a bit harsh but if you aren’t serving God from your heart because you love Him and are thankful for the bondage of sin He delivered you from, you most likely will be like the scribes and Pharisees and will always be finding fault with others based on what you think the bible means. And the devil will see to it that he brings plenty of scriptures to your mind to use to point the finger. What’s your point preacher? My point is that if you are relying on religious tradition to save you then you are most likely missing God and don’t even know it. The faith that is going to save you is the kind the bible teaches which is to serve God from your heart. To be humble and not to judge others and to consider those in bondage with compassion because you never know when you might be tempted and fall into the same condemnation. In truth, God refers to hypocrites in the bible as the smoke in His nostrils. It’s high time we as Christians lose our religion and get back to passionately serving God from our hearts. The foundation of our faith is prayer from a sincere heart, compassion towards sinners knowing we were just like them before God saved us, reading His Word every day and being a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. And not returning back to the things God delivered us from. Last but not least, seeking out a preacher who knows how to rightly divide the Word of God and will warn God’s people of their transgressions with a compassionate spirit. 1 Peter 4:18 "And if the righteous SCARCELY be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?" 1 Corinthians 10:12 "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.".
