Elcardo started its journey in the early 1980’s, as the
provider of the first ever locally made “Crash Bar” for automobile
jeeps, and subsequently produced mild steel
and stainless steel exhaust lines and accessories.
As a young energetic person with moderate thinking,
Mr. Athula Rohan Weeraratne, the present Managing
Director and founder of Elcardo Industries, studied
many new projects and confidently, competently ventured
into new areas. Thus, in 1995, the company started
importing exclusively automobile accessories, specially
made for 4 wheel driven luxury vehicles.
During 1997, Elcardo rose and became a bona fide star
in manufacturing entire roller shutter accessories that
meet international standards, using state-of-art machinery
imported from reputed countries like Australia
and Japan, and became the pioneer company to fabricate
roller shutter doors using Australian technology.
Such ideas continue throughout the years, as Elcardo
venture into and explore the different spheres and traverse
the various paths.
With over 30 years of experience in providing solutions
for a variety of premises, Elcardo inscribed their name in
gold in the stainless steel industry and has become a ‘go
to’ supplier for a wide range of standard and non-standard
sections of folding and roller doors, and their associated
components. Whether you require quality lath
from stock or a custom designed solution for a particular

About us
In 1997, Elcardo Industries (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated under the
‘Companies Act No 17 of 1982’. Simultaneously, Elcardo found
that hardly anyone manufactures roller doors locally in accordance
with the international standards. Therefore, Mr. Weerarathne
made the decision to import state-of-the-art machinery
from Australia and Japan which resulted in Elcardo becoming
the pioneer company to fabricate roller doors using Australian
technology. Today thousands of houses, car sheds, commercial
premises and a lot more places are adorned with high-quality
powder coated zinc-alum roller doors, with the Elcardo name.
Elcardo Industries (Pvt) Ltd is the very first company among the
roller door industry that is to be accredited with ISO 9001-2000
& ISO 9001-2008 SGS certificate in honor to the quality effective
service that is rendered to the customer
Along with those certificates, Elcardo’s craftsmanship and the
quality of the roller doors can be proved with the fact that the
official residence at Colombo, Tangalle and also the secretariat of
H.E., the president of D.S.R of Sri Lanka are secured with Elcardo
Roller Doors.
Time to time, Elcardo management has initiated to manufacture
various items that are highly demanded to provide construction
solutions such as Zinc Alum Color bonded and non-color roofing
sheets, gutters, down pipes and C purling with cold rolled
foamed and hot dipped zinc coated high strength steel strip and
low carbon black steel strip, which could be used for prefabricated
buildings of any size which are in accordance with customer
requirements.
Among the new ventures, manufacturing of Neustone surface
top ups as a substitute of granite has become very popular
among the customers. The cost and service are much competitive
comparing to granite, along with its perks of easy maintenance
and longevity. Neustone tops can be used for pantry tops,
bar tops, washroom wall coverings, floor tops, and any surface
tops that granite is used.

Chairman’s Message
Occupying the Elcardo chairman’s office equipped
with all the luxurious modern facilities, I am very
humble to review my memories back to yester years
since from the early 1980s when I ventured my career
as a technical craftsman in the industrial arena.

From my young age, it was and still is my ambition
and stern vision that whatever invention I am and
were to be involved in the industrial arena, that it
should give major priority for local manufacturers.
Thereby, I became the pioneer industrialist who
fabricates crash bar for automobile jeeps and
subsequently comprehensive exhaust line and its
accessories for all type of automobile vehicles.
Elcardo became the first ever
company in Asia to manufacture exhaust line and
muffler barrels with using stainless steel in
order to provide a long life to the exhaust line.
From there onwards I have come a long way
overcoming difficulties and competitive tasks to
achieve the present status where the Elcardo name is
mentioned a cynosure place in the roller door
industry as we hold the major share as the market
leader in the industry.
The historical milestone of the company shows both
success and fractures through which all my
colleagues both the past and present have
steadfastly held my hand and guided me along to
make our ventures successful. Also not forgetting the
valuable customers who gather around us with
appreciation with regards to the quality and the high
standard of our products and services gave us more
courage and confidence to move into new ventures
from time to time.
So I make this opportunity to extend my genuine and
humble gratitude for both my colleagues and clients
for making Elcardo shine in the industry, and from
now onwards I look forward to further new innovations
to make our products more valuable to our existing
and potential customers.
