The 27 named storms in 2005 is the all-time seasonal record. Although 1992 only produced six storms, it was a very memorable year. Hurricane Andrew, the first storm that season, was the only storm to reach the coast as a category five hurricane during the 27-year period and only the third in history. - 24 -

In this satellite photo taken during the early afternoon of October 13, 2016, Nicole was located just northeast of Bermuda. Although it passed over Bermuda several hours earlier, the storm still packed winds of 110 mph (Category 3). - 25 -
