MARCH BREAK AT
Theme Camps
Welcome to a world of imagination and
wonder. Theme camps bring stories and
characters to life with experienced, talented
and animated staff who are dedicated to
providing fun and adventures for all campers.
Themes are further enhanced with games,
crafts, swimming, special events, and visits
from extraordinary guests and out-trips to
exciting locations. For kindergarten camp
groups, all activities take place on-site at
Dovercourt with the same comfortable daily
routine of school. For campers in grade 1 and
older, most theme camp activities take place
at off-site locations near Dovercourt, but drop
off and pick up is always at Dovercourt.
Specialty Camps
Specialty camps offer campers the
opportunity to try something new and
develop their talents in a fun and friendly
environment. At least half the day is spent
on the specialty and the rest of the day is
balanced with other creative camp activities
including outdoor play, crafts and swimming.
For kindergarten camp groups, all activities
take place on-site at Dovercourt with the

campers in grade 1 and older, most theme
camp activities take place at off-site locations
near Dovercourt, but drop off and pick up is
always at Dovercourt.
Special Needs
Dovercourt is strongly committed to the
inclusion of all campers. Please take the time
to make us aware of any medical, behavioural,
or cognitive issues your child may have, at
the time of registration. This might include
social anxieties, communication barriers, or
the tendency to run or wander away from
the group. Making us aware early on will
ensure that our Inclusion Coordinators can
help arrange for any additional supports
or accommodations to make sure that your
child has the best possible experience in

Before and After
Camp
Regular Camp hours are 9:00-4:00. You may
sign in with your Camp Director at 8:30am
and sign out until 4:30pm.
Child care is available from 7:30 until camp
begins and after camp until 6:00pm. Pre and
Post camp offers supervised, semi-structured
activities including indoor games, arts and
crafts and more.
Fee of $43 includes both pre- and post- camp,
for the entire week, and a post-camp snack for
all campers at 5:00pm.
Camp Lunches
Please send your child with a lunch as well as
a morning and afternoon snack, or purchase
a convenient lunch and snack package from
Adam’s Apple Café. Cost is $45 for the week
and includes a drink, snack and sandwich
or wrap. Not recommended for campers
with specific dietary restrictions or allergies.
Camp lunches are not available for Snow
Cats Campers. Available for purchase until
Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

theme Camps
Kinder Incredible
This program is geared toward kids in
kindergarten and includes a balance of crafts,
games and activities all centered around a
Superhero theme:
Put a stop to the Riddler’s tricks before he
wreaks havoc on all of Dovercourt! Develop your
alter-ego and your super powers, then practice
chasing down bad guys and solving their
puzzles left behind. When the Riddler is caught,
we’ll lock him up, and then celebrate with a
superhero-sized costume party!

Heroes vs Villains
This program is geared toward kids in
grades 1-5 and includes a balance of crafts,
games and activities all centered around a
Superhero theme and geared appropriately
toward each age group:
Our sources have informed us that they need
help protecting the planet and are recruiting
agents from Dovercourt. Test your knowledge
of super powers as you craft your own comic
book hero, learn the art of the chase with
a parkour and free-running workshop, and
create covert communication with lessons
in code breaking. Finally, you’ll master
your teamwork skills in a high-pressure
tournament of Laser Tag.

Specialty Camps
Sports 4-5YRS

For our youngest athletes, this multi-sport
camp is based on the Sport for Life model,
which emphasizes the importance of learning
fundamental movement skills at a young
age and developing physical literacy. This
program is designed and lead by Dovercourt
counselors, who are experienced in school
and club sports, with an emphasis on
teaching the ABC’s of sport: Agility, Balance
and Coordination. Campers will stay active
during the break playing games indoors and
outside, in the gym and in the pool.

Sports 6-8yrs

This multi-sport camp is designed and lead by
Dovercourt counselors who are experienced
in school and club sports with an emphasis on
teaching the ABC’s of sport: Agility, Balance
and Coordination. The Sport for Life model
emphasizes the importance of children trying
a variety of different sports at a young age,
year-round, both in the water and on land,
and indoors as well as outdoors. With an
emphasis on participation and fun, campers
will practice a variety of different sports
including soccer, basketball, hockey,
skating and swimming.

Art Camp 5-6yrs

Art camp offers a week of creativity and
imagination. Young artists will try a bit of
everything including painting, pottery
handbuilding, drawing lessons and a
variety of unique crafts. Parents are invited
to a special exhibition on Friday, where our
young designers and artists will show off
what they’ve been working on all week.

Youth Zone: Chill
& Thrill 10-12yrs

We’ve got the best of both worlds for our
spring Zoners! Geared toward participants
in grades 5-7, activities will include a
balance of action-packed adventure and
laid-back group games. Race your way
through a training course at OCR Academy,
battle your friends in Mario World, then
work together on escape room and
structure building challenges. Sign up with
a friend, or make some new ones, it’s sure
to be a memorable week.

Culinary 9-12yrs

Put your creativity and culinary skills to the
test and become a Master Chef in just a
week. Learn the best techniques from the
best in the business and then compete in
mystery box, recipe-creating and taste-test
challenges.

BSOMA - Musical
Theatre 8-11yrs

Be a triple threat on the stage! In this camp
you will learn to sing, dance and act. While
learning to perform, you will also learn
how to audition. This course will end with
a performance for friends and family on
the BSOMA stage. The Bluesfest School of
Music & Art offers young artists a chance
to learn directly from professionals and
industry specialists. Each day starts and
ends at Dovercourt while most lessons and
activities take place at Festival House, just a
short walk from the Centre.

Circus 6-9yrs $296
Spend the week with Nick Miller learning all about how to become a circus
performer. Learn the basics of juggling, diabolo and prop manipulation then
test your balancing skills with rolo bolo, unicycling and walking on stilts.
Become a polished theatre clown and show off your skills in the circus show

Bonus March Break Camp
$190
For those who have an extra week off school, join us at Dovercourt
for a week of activities include outdoor games, rock climbing and
swimming. Program runs from 9:00am-4:00pm at Dovercourt, with
optional extended care. Program runs March 20 to 24, 2017.

Snow Cats 8-14yrs – $372
In partnership with Ski Vorlage, this downhill ski and snowboard
program includes daily lessons from certified instructors, as
well as a variety of group activities on the hill. With enhanced
supervision and age appropriate activities in small groups,
this camp is ideal for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.
Please note that helmets are mandatory and available to rent
if required. All participants must fill out and sign a waiver,
available for download at www.dovercourt.org. Pick up and
drop off for this program will take place at J.A. Dulude Arena,
941 Clyde Ave with optional extended care. Equipment (skis,
poles, boots for skiing or board and boots for snowboarding)
rentals are available for an additional $100/week. Helmets are
also available to rent for $25/week.
