Angry Planet
Photography by Peter Rowe Monograph 1
Over the period of 2006 to 2015 Peter Rowe filmed 49 episodes of the
television series "Angry Planet", in far flung locations on every continent.
During this period he also shot many hundreds of still photographs. The
photos sometimes match the tone of the TV series, and other times go off
on their own idiosyncratic path. The best of these are displayed here.
The photographs were taken with a variety of digital cameras including the
Canon 5D, Canon 60D, Panasonic Lumix GH1 and GH4, Olympus Tough and
GoPro.
All photographs are by Peter Rowe, except for the back cover (of Peter
Rowe and daughter Brianna Rowe on top of Acatenango Volcano) by Hailey
Spurr.
thought to be carved out of the ground by elephants over thousands of years, is also
believed to be ground zero for the Marburg-Ebola virus.
For 600,000 years, this cave, in Chihuahua, Mexico, was filled with volcanically heated
water, that created these amazing, huge crystals. Once it was accidentally drained and
discovered, we were among the first people to be able to enter and film the Crystal
Cave.
