Ponemos en vuestras manos la sexta edición del Anuario.
Este proyecto, que vio la luz en 2011, tiene como objetivo
trabajar mano a mano con los artistas para difundir el apasionante
mundo de la joyería contemporánea.
La joyería contemporánea es un viaje estético entre el
arte y la joyería, donde el artista emplea sus conocimientos
e imaginación para crear piezas únicas con la intención de
comunicarse a través de ellas; ideas y sueños transformados
en joyas. Sus obras reflejan su carácter personal de una
manera íntima así como su manera de pensar, su cultura y
sus influencias. El concepto toma fuerza y eso hace necesario
experimentar, renovar o reinventar con materiales y con
técnicas. El universo creativo es ilimitado.
Como en anteriores ediciones, nuevos artistas se incorporan
al proyecto uniéndose a los que ya participaban. En las
próximas páginas os damos a conocer sus propuestas, sus
diseños y creaciones sorprendentes e insólitas que no dejan
a nadie indiferente. ¡Disfrutad de ellas!
We put in your hands the sixth edition of the Yearbook. This
project, which saw the light in 2011, has the objective to work
hand in hand with the artists to spread the exciting world of
contemporary jewellery.
The contemporary jewellery is an aesthetic journey between
art and jewelry, where the artist uses its knowledge and imagination
to create unique pieces with the intention of communicating
through them; ideas and dreams transformed into jewellery.
Their work reflects their personal character in an intimate way
as well as their way of thinking, their culture and their influences.
The concept takes strength and that makes necessary experience,
renew or reinvent with materials and techniques. Creative
universe is unlimited.
As in previous editions, new artists are incorporated into
the project joining the already involved. In the following pages we
show you their proposals, their designs and creations surprising
and unusual that did not leave anyone indifferent. Enjoy them!

El Premio Internacional Arte y Joya perfila su personalidad más investigadora.
Los candidatos son los artistas participantes en el Anuario
de Joyería Contemporánea. El premio recibe el nombre de la revista
decana del Grupo Duplex.
La elección siempre es reñida porque las propuestas representan
un verdadero laboratorio de creatividad, en la que queremos reconocer
la importancia de la joyería contemporánea como punta de
lanza en el desarrollo del sector.
El acto de entrega se realiza en el marco de JOYA, Contemporary
Jewellery Week, el contexto ideal para destacar los artistas que
se abren camino en todo el mundo.
The International Arte y Joya Award outlines its researcher personality.
Candidates to it are the artists participating in the Contemporary Jewellery
Yearbook. The award takes its name from the dean magazine of Grupo
Duplex.
The election is always hard-fought because the proposals represent a
veritable laboratory of creativity, in which we recognize the importance of
contemporary jewellery as spearhead sector development.
The award ceremony is performed under JOYA, Contemporary Jewellery
Week, which is the ideal context for highlight the artists who make
their way around the world.

“La tensión entre ausencia y presencia es un tema importante en mi
trabajo. Una parte significativa del mismo toma la forma de joyería contemporánea.
Desde muy temprana edad he estado fascinada por las joyas
cuando no eran usadas sino escondidas en hermosos joyeros y mujeres
importantes en mi vida me las mostraban. Podía sentir su profundo apego
a estas joyas, cargadas de recuerdos de seres queridos y de momentos
especiales en la vida, sin embargo, casi nunca conectadas físicamente
al cuerpo. Esto creó una tensión mágica entre ausencia y presencia. En
mi trabajo trato de capturar esta tensión mediante disciplina, forma y
material.“
“The tension between absence and presence is an important theme in my
work. A significant part of my work takes the form of contemporary jewellery.
From an early age I have been fascinated by jewellery when it was not worn but
hidden away in beautiful jewel boxes and shown to me by women in my life who
were important to me. I could sense their deep attachment for these jewellery
pieces, which were loaded with memories of loved ones and special moments
in life, yet hardly ever physically connected to the body. They created a magical
tension between absence and presence. In my work I try to capture this tension
through choice of discipline, shape and material.”

AMIR SHEIKHVAND
Mi trabajo incorpora tanto valores sociales como percepciones
de mi entorno. Más que contar la historia entera, alude a los
elementos de la narrativa, lo que permite a los espectadores
rellenar los detalles con su creatividad e imaginación individual.
Exploro y experimento con estilos étnicos de joyería heredados
culturalmente y con nuevas formas del arte contemporáneo
joyero. Formas geométricas, a menudo cúbicas, rejillas mezcladas
con formas orgánicas, colores sólidos y repeticiones son las características
claves en mi trabajo.
My work incorporates both my social values and the perceptions
of my surroundings. They allude to the elements of the narrative,
rather than telling the whole story allowing the spectators to fill
in the details with their individual creativity and imagination. I am
exploring and experimenting with culturally inherited ethnic styles
of jewellery and new forms of contemporary art jewellery. Geometric,
often cubic forms, and grid systems mixed with organic
shapes, solid colours and repetition are key features in my work.

El aire no se ve, no tiene color, no tiene forma, no tiene ni
olor ni sabor, parece que sea algo inexistente... sin embargo
es el aliento vital, el vacío que nos alimenta. Con este anillo
de oro, ligero y sencillo, pretendo convertir el aire en algo
tangible.
We don’t see air, it’s colourless, shapeless, having neither smell nor
taste, apparently it doesn’t exist… however, air is an vital intake,
the nothingness wich nourishes us. With this light, simple goldring,
I trie to convert air in something tangible.

En el antiguo Egipto los gloriosos guerreros conseguían
medallas de oro de moscas para adorar su fuerza, disposición
y enfocarse en conseguir lo que querían. Las moscas
tienen una vida corta pero intensa. Prueban un poco de
todo. Intentan mucho, aprenden mucho y viven mucho. ¡Eso
es magnífico!
In the Old Egypt the glorious worriors got golden fly medals to
adore their strength, willingness and focus to get what they want.
Flys have a short but intensive life. They taste a bit of everything.
So they try a lot, learn a lot and live a lot. That’s Precious!

ANNA KITSOU
Uso materiales cerámicos como porcelana, loza y gres. Mi
objetivo es la metamorfosis completa de este material,
reuniendo los elementos para crear piezas totalmente flexibles,
suaves y ligeras que abracen el cuerpo en una armonía
perfecta. Cada pieza es esculpida para formar una imagen
de encaje. Un encaje de cerámica. Mi inspiración viene de
la Tierra, de Grecia y de la encrucijada de culturas, tanto
antiguas como modernas.
I use ceramic materials such as porcelain, earthenware and
stoneware. My aim is the complete metamorphosis of this material,
assembling the elements to create totally flexible, soft and
light pieces which embrace the body in perfect harmony. Each
individual piece is carved to form the image of lace. A ceramic
lace. My inspiration comes from the earth, Greece and crossroads
of cultures, both ancient and modern.

ASAGI MAEDA
Esta es una de las piezas más ambiciosas de los primeros
tiempos de Asagi. Creó esta pieza con absolutamente todas
las técnicas que ella poseía. Después de pasar dos años
formando sus ideas, Asagi creó esta obra maestra en un
mes inspirada por Radiohead. Las imágenes que recibió de
la música fueron reconstruidas en una pulsera. Grabó un
relato del nacimiento de la Tierra en japonés que descendió
hasta ella.
This is one of the most ambitious pieces from Asagi’s early days.
She created this piece with absolutely all the techniques she
possessed. After spending two years in forming the ideas, Asagi
created this master piece within a month being inspired by Radiohead.
The images she received from the music was reconstructed
into a bracelet. She engraved a tale of the birth of the Earth in
Japanese which was descended to her.

La joyería con oro y hierro comenzó con la idea de convivencia
de un material barato (un clavo de hierro o un trozo
de hierro) y un material precioso como el oro. El esfuerzo
para dominar estos dos materiales es continuo y difícil pero
no imposible.
The jewellery with gold and iron began with the idea of cohabitation
of cheap material (an iron nail or a piece of iron) and
a precious material such as gold. The effort to tame these two
materials is continuous and difficult but not impossible.

Belén vió nacer su primera joya en 1997, al tiempo que su
hijo vio la luz por vez primera. Esa coincidencia dice mucho
acerca de su personalidad creativa, en la que los detalles
de su vida y su obra se entrelazan en una curiosa danza de
espontaneidad y frescura.
Belén saw her first jewel being born in 1997, at the time that
her son saw the light for the first time. This coincidence says very
much about her creative personality, in which the details of her
own life and her work interlace in a curious dance of spontaneity
and freshness.

reflexión sobre la deconstrucción. Arquitectura, ¿el mundo
del pensamiento? Pieza de una serie de 3, se realizó en homenaje
a Zaha Hadid que falleció en marzo de 2016.
Construction/Deconstruction. This ring is part of a reflection on
the deconstruction. Architecture, the world of the thought? Piece
of a series of 3, it was realized in homage to Zaha Hadid who
died in March, 2016.

Piedras de río que van al mar. Pieza realizada con piedras
encontradas en las caminatas por orillas de ríos en la precordillera
y en la playa. El agua les va suavizando sus aristas y
superficies, piedras que viajan y cuentan historias plasmadas
en sus calladas texturas.
River stones that go to the sea. Piece made with stones found in
walks along banks of rivers in the foothills and on the beach. The
water softens its edges and surfaces, stones that travel and tell
stories reflected in their silent textures.

Skateboarding es divertido, pero es también fallo e intento,
una y otra vez… También estoy muy emocionado por el
concepto del reciclaje, utilizar las mejores características de
las cosas usadas como un juego con la libertad, las barreras,
las reglas y los objetivos. Cada cubierta del skate está hecha
de 7 capas de arce, las capas están coloreadas, yo no las
coloreé, sacando provecho de esta característica.
Skateboarding is fun, but is also fails and trials, again and again
and again … I’m also very excited by the upcycling concept, to
use the best features of the used things like a game with liberty,
barriers, rules and goals. Each skate decks are made of 7 plys of
maple tree, layers are colored, I don’t colored them, just taking
advantage of this feature.

Utilizo muchas influencias al crear mis joyas. A menudo miro
a otras culturas y armas históricas. Esta pieza fue inspirada
por el arte celta, los mandalas y las cartas astrales. Mientras
la diseñaba estaba interesado en sucesos cósmicos y en la
conjunción entre nuestro planeta y sistema solar en el que
se encuentra.
I use many influences when creating my jewellery. Often I look to
other cultures and historical weaponry. This piece was inspired
by celtic art, mandalas and astrological charts. While designing
I was interested in cosmic occurrences and the conjunction
between our planet and the solar system it sits within.

CHRISTINE MACKELLAR
Creciendo absorbí de forma natural los sutiles patrones de
las cambiantes estaciones. Mi acercamiento al diseño se basa
en la observación de estos pequeños cambios. Fascinada
con las repeticiones, juego con iteraciones de las formas. El
trabajo se concentra en formas dimensionales usando una
limitada paleta de colores para crear una distintiva joyería.
Growing up I naturally absorbed the subtle patterns of changing
seasons. My approach to design is rooted in the observation of
these small changes. Fascinated with repetitions I play with iterations
of shape. The work is focused on dimensional form using a
limited color palate to create distinctive wearable jewelry.

Nacido en la ciudad de Nueva York, Christopher Ross se ha
ganado una importante reputación internacional artísticos
animales “llevables”. Su trabajo único y perdurable se ha visto
en las películas “Sexo en Nueva York” y presentado por los
principales diseñadores de América.
Born in New York City, Christopher Ross has earned a substantial
international reputation for his animal ‘wearable’ fine art. His
unique and enduring work was seen in the “Sex & the City”
movies and showcased by leading American designers.

CRISTIANA TURANO CAMPELLO
Cristiana nació en Sciacca (Italia) en 1987. Estudió en Milán y
Roma especializándose en orfebrería, modelado y fundición a
la cera. Sus joyas están inspiradas en lo que la rodea: naturaleza,
arquitectura, tradiciones de su Sicilia... combina la orfebrería
con nuevas técnicas y materiales; tratando de dar a cada joya
un alma. Esta pulsera está inspirada por las tempestuosas olas
estrellándose contra los acantilados. Una simple hoja de papel
se convierte en algo precioso y artístico: un origami tratado con
resina. Las dos ondas de plata que componen la pulsera están
hechas a mano.
Cristiana was born in Italy, she studies in Milan and Rome specializing
in goldsmith, modeling and wax casting. Her jewels are inspired
in that surrounds her: nature, architecture, traditions of her Sicily...
combining the goldsmith’s art with new tecniques and materials;
trying to give each jewel a soul. The bracelet is inspired by the stormy
waves crashing against the cliffs. A simple sheet of paper turns into
something precious and artistic: an origami treated with resin. The
two silver waves that make up the bracelet are hand-made.

Sus joyas se inspiran en la naturaleza, usando piezas que
encuentra en ella como ramas secas, huesos y otros objetos
orgánicos, que transforma en joyas en las que dichos materiales
se combinan con oro o plata. Esta obra se llama Sacer, elemento
sagrado, describe una cosa o persona ofrecida a la divinidad.
Her jewelry is inspired in nature, using pieces found in the wild
like dry branches, bones and other organic objects, that are
transformed into jewels in which these materials are combined
with gold or silver. This piece is called Sacer, sacred item, describes
a thing or person which is offered to the divinities.

“JewelScapes” es acerca de la cura del alma. Los Jardines
Usables son la conexión mística entre Humanos y Naturaleza.
Colores fuertes, formas, nudos componen un jardín
imaginario. Es el jardín donde florece un gran amor o sólo el
pacífico lugar que todos necesitamos. Una colección homenaje
a las tradiciones y recuerdos de Grecia.
“JewelScapes” are about the cure of the Soul. Wearable Gardens
are the mystical connection between Human and Nature.
Strong colors, shapes, knots compose an imaginary garden. It is
the garden where one great love is blooming or just the peaceful
place everyone needs. A collection honoring Greece’s traditions
and memories.

Inspirado en las casas abandonadas que han sido reclamadas
por la naturaleza, mi obra explora el misterioso concepto
a través de la pura esencialidad. Con el fin de reflejar el
complejo de una orgánica e industrial estética, distorsiono
y comprimo resmas de alambre de plata en preciosa joyería
con cualidades escultóricas.
Inspired by abandoned houses that have been claimed back from
nature, my work explores the uncanny concept through pure
essentialism. In order to reflect, the complex of an organic, yet
industrial aesthetic, I distort and heavily compress lengthy reams

un viaje de Londres a Copenhague.
Childhood activities of dressmaking and crocheting feed into this
body of work. Tension series consists of one-of-a-kind brooches
that rely on the tension of the silk thread to hold their shape.
Sewing and knotting oxidized silver tube, transforming the materials
into elegant, faceted pieces that embody a rare mixture of
precision, timelessness and a strong sculptural aesthetic. This
piece was created after a trip from London to Copenhagen.

Fuga es la más compleja de las formas de contrapunto. Se
conectan tres o cuatro voces en contrapunto gradualmente
cantando un tema musical. Esta conexión aparte del melódico
carácter es necesaria para su estructura. El motivo
musical “se escapa” de una voz a otra conectando con la que
sigue. La conexión de los acordes no es sólo una repetición
estéril de la melodía si no un renacimiento. Este renacimiento
es como el comienzo de la vida: una célula, un átomo es el
principio de la cadena de vínculos que crea todo.
Fuga is the most complex of contrapunctal forms. Three or four
voices are connected in counterpoint singing gradually a musical
theme. This connection apart from the melodic character is
necessary for its structure. The musical motivo “escapes” from
one voice to other connecting it with the one that follows. The
connection of the chords is not just a sterile repetition of the
melody but its rebirth. This rebirth is like the beginning of life: a
cell, an atom is the beginning in the chain of links that creates
everything.

Urban mess and chaos hold the patterns with which I make jewellery.
These can be found anywhere from the layered, rampant
building in Mexico City to the specific movement of a crowd at
rush hour. Process and design are indivisible in my work. To catch
the energy of jewellery making I must lose control of it. In this way
the process of making plays a lead role in the design. The result is
playful jewellery for the bold.

dragón y un Tor-ii que es la entrada japonesa a un santuario.
Ryu, el rey dragón, vive en su palacio en el fondo del mar
guardado por dragones. En el norte del palacio de nieva todo
año, en el este el cerezo está en flor, en el sur las noches son
cálidas y en el oeste crecen coloridos arces. Para un humano,
un día en la tierra equivale a cien años en este palacio. La
colección se convierte un cuento.

King and a Tor-ii which is the Japanese gateway of a sanctuary.
Ryu, the Dragon King, lives in his palace at the bottom of the sea
guarded by the Dragons. In the North of the palace it snows all
year long, in the East the cherry tree is always blooming, in the
South the evenings are hot and in the West coloured maple trees
grow. For a human being, a day on earth is the equivalent of a
hundred years in this palace. The collection becomes a tale.

Me di cuenta que llamé a mi anillo “detonación” porque
me conecta con la verdad. Mi propia verdad. Pero la verdad
también puede ser aterradora. De esta forma es como
explico la explosión conectada al anillo: sucedió algo horrible
y una explosión hizo eco en el “espacio” de mi alma.
I realized that I call my ring “detonation” because it connects me
to the truth. My own truth. But truth might also be scary. This
is how I explain the explosion connected to the ring: something
horrible happened and a BANG echoed along the “space” of

MAY GAÑÁN
Busco el sentimiento, la poesía y el alma en todo lo que
hago. Persigo la creatividad a través de la joyería, el dibujo,
la fotografía y la escritura. Me gusta imaginar mis piezas
como poemas con forma; sentimientos con volumen que se
pueden tocar y a los que volver siempre. “La Soñadora” es un
viaje que transcurre desde la nostalgia y atraviesa los sueños
para dirigirse al interior, siguiendo el camino que trazan las
huellas de los pies al caminar.
I look for feeling, poetry and soul in everything I do. I persue
creativity through jewelry making, drawing, photography and
writing. I like to think of my pieces as poems on shape; as feelings
on volumen we can touch and always refer to. “The Dreamer”
is a trip from nostalgy through dream and towards self search,
following the path drawn by footprint in soil.

Réka Gottlieb diseñó la colección Fossil en Bali, Indonesia. La
colección se inspiró en los colores y las formas de las olas del
océano y sus criaturas. Los materiales son cordón de algodón
y fósiles de la isla como esponjas y conchas que fueron recogidas
por la diseñadora durante sus viajes alrededor de Bali.
Los cordones de algodón fueron teñidas por la diseñadora
con pigmentos naturales de la isla y divididas en tiras de
formas diferentes y combinadas con los fósiles.
Réka Gottlieb designed the Fossil jewellery collection in Bali,
Indonesia. The collection was inspired by the colours and forms
of the ocean’s waves and creatures. The jewellery’s materials are
cotton strings and the island’s fossils like sponges and shells what
were collected by the designer during her trips around Bali and
prepared for finishing. The cotton strings of this necklace were
dyed by the designer with natural pigments of the island and
banded in different ways then combined with the fossils.

Después de terminar mis estudios de Geotécnica, trabajé
como diseñadora floral. En 1998, comencé a estudiar diseño
floral moderno en “Artifa”. Más adelante, fui a “Cifaf” en
París, donde conocí la joyería floral. Desde que yo recuerdo,
siempre hice pequeñas creaciones con un toque personal.
After I completed my geotechnical studies, I worked as a floral
designer. In 1998, I started studying modern floral design at
“Artifa”. Afterwards, I went to “Cifaf” in Paris, where I got in touch
with the floral jewellery. Since I remember myself, I always made
little creations with a personal touch.

Fundar SPOENK ha sido un sueño hecho realidad; el establecimiento
de un taller donde puedo desarrollar mi creatividad
y hacer mis propios diseños. “Le Petit Lierre” fue mi obra de
graduación; las lentes son mecánicas y totalmente funcionales
con resortes hechos a mano para abrirse y cerrarse. En los
siglos XVIII y XIX se usaban para leer y ver.

Starting up SPOENK has been a dream come true; establishing
a workshop where I can develop my creativity and make my own
designs. “Le Petit Lierre” was my masterpiece; the glasses are

Hay una pequeña distancia entre arte y diseño y entre
la función conceptual y aplicada de la joyería. Mi obra se
balancea entre estos campos. Los anillos de crean un lenguaje
visual de formas complementarias y juguetones engastes de
piedras. Como una gran ciudad llena de contrastes tanto en
residentes como en edificios, como la belleza de un desorden
arquitectónico.
There is a small border between art and design and between the
conceptual and applied function of jewellery. My work balances
between these fields. The rings create a visual language of
complementary shapes and playfully set stones. Like a big city
full of contrasting residents and buildings, like the beauty of an
architectural mess.

Suzane se convirtió diseñadora de joyas por pasión. Autodidacta,
inicialmente creaba piezas para su propio uso.
Comenzó a estudiar y en 2004 lanzó su primera colección.
El reconocimiento de su trabajo llegó con premios en
concursos e invitaciones a numerosas exposiciones. Hechas
a mano, sus piezas son únicas y los materiales utilizados
van desde los más tradicionales como el oro y la plata con
piedras, a los más inusuales como semillas, tejidos, cestería
y vidrio.
Suzane became jewelry designer by passion. Self-taught, she
initially created pieces for her own use. She began to study and
in 2004 launched her first collection. The recognition of her work
came with prizes in competitions and invitations to numerous
exhibitions. Handmade, their pieces are unique and the materials
used range from the more traditional, such as gold and silver with
stones, to the more unusual as seeds, tissues, basketry and glass.

Teje Waidmann se graduó en diseño de moda, más delante

TEREZA DAMIANIDOU
Tanto por sustracción-ausencia o por adición-presencia del
metal, surge inevitablemente un resultado muy decorativo,
que parece desafiar la gravedad. La inspiración proviene del
movimiento y permeabilidad del encaje. La joya adquiere
sensibilidad, un estado de ánimo romántico, que parece flotar
en el espacio y aún más en el tiempo... Tan ligero, tan frágil,
pero tan fuerte.
Either by subtraction-absence or by addition-presence of metal,
it is inevitably created an intensely decorative result, which
seems to defy gravity. Inspiration comes from the movement and
permeability of lace. The jewel acquires sensitivity, a romantic
mood, which seems to float in space and even more in time…

The artist experiments with several textiles by recycling and
reusing scarp fabric such as felt, cotton, alpaca, leather... She reinvents
the conventional use of materials, turning them into fashion
accesories to show that inanimate objects can be reinvented as

El pasado mes de Septiembre MadridJoya mostró una completa oferta de novedades y
propuestas de alta joyería, joyería comercial y complementos de moda.
Se presentó un amplio programa de actividades como charlas sobre nuevas
tecnologías, paneles de tendencias, talleres de empaquetado creativo y otras interesantes
conferencias que contaron con la colaboración de reconocidos especialistas
en los distintos temas, así como de bloggers del mundo de la moda. Cabe destacar,
también, la Pasarela MadridJoya con la celebración de cuatro desfiles utilizando joyas
de los expositores.
Como en anteriores ediciones, la exposición Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook
aportó una imagen internacional de joyería creativa e innovadora presentando las obras
de los artistas participantes en el libro homónimo.
Last September MadridJoya showed a complete offer of novelties and proposals of high
jewellery, commercial jewellery and fashion complements.
A wide activities program were presented such as lectures on new technologies, panels
of trends, workshops of creative packaged and other interesting lectures that counted with
the collaboration of recognized specialists in the different subjects, as well as of bloggers from
the fashion world. It should be noted, also, the Pasarela MadridJoya with the celebration of
four catwalks using jewels of the exhibitors.
As in previous editions, the exhibition Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook contributed an
image international of jewelry creative and innovative by presenting the works of them artists
participating in the namesake book.

JOYA Barcelona es el principal evento de joyería artística de España. Dedicada a
promover la joyería contemporánea y ubicada en el espacio cultural Arts Santa
Mònica, reúne a los más reconocidos artistas nacionales e internacionales, galerías
de arte, colectivos, escuelas, conferencias y eventos paralelos. JOYA Barcelona se
ha convertido en una plataforma de negocios entre artistas y galerías de arte y
compradores privados. Su séptima edición tuvo lugar el pasado mes de Octubre.
Entre los eventos paralelos, se celebró la entrega del VI Premio Arte Y Joya con
el que se galardona a uno de los participantes en el Anuario de Joyería Contemporánea.
Es una elección reñida ya que las obras candidatas son una perfecta muestra
de investigación y creación que resaltan la importancia de la joyería contemporánea
tanto en el mundo de la joya como en el mundo del arte.
Los miembros del jurado fueron: Amador Bertomeu y Leo Caballero, fundadores
de Klimt02; Anthony Chevallier y Paulo Ribeiro, de Le Département, organizadores
y directores de JOYA; Elena Druguet, de la prestigiosa empresa catalana

JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery Fair is the main event of art jewellery in Spain. Dedicated
to promote contemporary jewellery and placed in the cultural space Arts Santa Mònica
gathering the most renowned national and international artists, galleries, collectives,
schools, conferences and parallel events. JOYA has become a business platform between
artists and galleries and private buyers. Its seventh edition took place last October.
Among the parallel events, it took place the ceremony of the VI Arte Y Joya Award
with which is awarded one of the participant artists in the Contemporary Jewellery
Yearbook. It is a fought election because all candidate works are a perfect sample of
research and creation that highlight the importance of contemporary jewelry both in the
jewelry world as in the art world.
The members of the jury were: Amador Bertomeu and Leo Caballero, founders of
Klimt02; Anthony Chevallier and Paulo Ribeiro, Le Département, JOYA Barcelona organizers
and managers; Elena Druguet, from the prestigious catalan company Druguet

En el marco de la Semana de la Joyería de Barcelona tuvo lugar la sexta edición de
Espaijoia, del 9 al 15 de Octubre en el Palau de Congressos de Catalunya. La feria se ha
convertido en el referente comercial del sector joyero y relojero en Barcelona.
Además de la exposición de joyas, la organización ofreció actividades como conferencias
acerca del contraste de los metales preciosos o acerca de la estrategia de redes
sociales en el mundo de la joyería. También se organizó un desfile en body painting en
oro y plata con joyas de los expositores.
Espaijoia reiteró su compromiso con el futuro del sector acogiendo a las principales
escuelas de joyería españolas.
Como en anteriores ediciones, la exposición Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook
aportó una imagen internacional de joyería creativa e innovadora presentando las obras

In the framework of the Barcelona Jewellery Week took place the sixth edition of Espaijoia,
from 9th to 15th October in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya. The show has become
the commercial in the jewellery and watchmaker industry in Barcelona.
In addition to the exhibition of jewellery, the organization offered activities such as
lectures about the contrast of the precious metals or about the strategy of social networks in
the world of jewellery. It was also organized a catwalk in body painting in gold and silver with
jewels of the exhibitors.
Espaijoia repeated its commitment with the future of the sector receiving the main
Spanish jewellery schools.
As in previous editions, the exhibition Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook contributed an
