ORCHARD STATION SUBAREA:<br />

THE PLANNING PROCESS<br />

Over the past 18 months, the Village has committed<br />

resources to study the feasibility of developing a vision for the<br />

Orchard Station Subarea. The Village hired a team of<br />

consultants to supplement staff’s skills, expertise, and<br />

facilitate the planning process. The consultants, through<br />

several meetings, conducted 11 study sessions and public<br />

open houses. The purpose of the meetings was to acquire<br />

input from City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission,<br />

residents, businesses, and staff. The consultants provided<br />

“expert” findings, recommendations, and offered concepts for<br />

the area. Having consultants facilitate the planning of the<br />

Orchard Station Subarea offered valuable external<br />

perspectives and resources to facilitate collaboration and<br />

discussions.<br />
