20 EDUcatoR tRaininG coURSE DEScRiPtion The Educator Training Program offers basic methodology training in the principles of cosmetology instruction in order for the student to start a successful career as a licensed instructor in a licensed school. PREREqUiSitES Students must have a valid Cosmetology license and proof of practice for a minimum of one year in order to be eligible for an apprentice teaching license. The program focuses on educational techniques, curriculum development, use of instructional aids and Student Salon floor leadership and classroom management, including: Teaching methods Demonstration and presentation skills Service and performance coaching skills Grading, evaluating, record keeping Effective communication and performance coaching Safety, sanitation, and state laws and rules PRogRaMs Lesson planning, course material management and creating course files
