Day 7 Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, descend into the

crater for game viewing on the crater floor.

Day 9 Lake Manyara & Depart

Bush Rovers

Tanzania

A truly exclusive mobile safari camp that

puts you right where the action is! The

Bush Rover Migration Camps in the

Serengeti are working Land Rovers which

open up into mobile safari suites with

bedrooms elevated some ten feet from

ground level, providing a fantastic view.

Each suite comes complete with solar

powered lighting and hot water and a

camp crew. Each migration camp has

only 4-5 Bush Rover Suites. The Bush

Rovers drive ahead and set up in the best

possible private sites for viewing the

great wildebeest migration, and remain

in situ for several months whilst the

migration is in a particular area, before

moving onto the next site. Your game

drives are conducted in a separate 4x4

game vehicle. A truly different experience

to get close to nature without

compromising on comfort!

by the Grumeti River or by the Mara River

Safari by game drive vehicle away from the

crowds, offering fabulous game viewing

opportunities around the famous Grumeti

Days 5–6 Plettenberg Bay (Garden Route)

Collect your hire car and depart on the scenic garden route – the most

popular in South Africa! Covering a great part of the southwestern coast of

South Africa, the Garden Route stretches from Mossel Bay to the Tsitsikamma

Forest and Storms River. The Garden Route is a coastal corridor along the N2

highway, where ancient forests, rivers, wetlands, dunes, stretches of beach,

lakes, mountain scenery and indigenous fynbos all merge to form a landscape

of splendid beauty. By late afternoon arrive at the pretty beach village of

Plettenberg Bay. Spend 2 nights here, exploring the surroundings. Overnight

at Redbourne Country Lodge or similar.

Day 7 Cape St Francis

Today travel further into the garden route. Suggest you visit the Tsitsikamma

National Park, and continue to Cape St Francis, a tranquil eco-destination,

surrounded by nature reserves and a glorious beach. Overnight at Cape St

Francis Resort or similar.

Days 8–9 Addo Elephant National Park

Continue along the Garden Route, past Port Elizabeth and onto Addo

Elephant National Park, the third largest National Park in South Africa. Spend

2 nights here at Kuzuko Lodge or similar on full board with game drives.

Days 10–11 Oudtshoorn

Depart through the Great Karoo back to Western Cape Province. Afternoon

arrive at Oudtshoorn, known as the ostrich capital of the world and situated

in the Klein Karoo between Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountains. Spend 2

nights at Mooiplaas Guest House or similar.

Days 12–13 Stellenbosch

Today’s journey takes you along the breathtaking Route 62 to the Cape

Winelands. Route 62 is modelled on the iconic US Route 66 and is one of the

most beautiful routes in South Africa; running through the vineyards. Late

afternoon arrive in the Cape Winelands, origin of some of the world’s most

popular wines. Spend 2 nights exploring the winelands region. Overnight at

De Zalze Lodge or similar.

The tour begins with a visit to Zanzibar’s colourful market, alive

with the buzz of locals bartering for fresh vegetables and

tropical fruit. Continue to the site of a cathedral built in 1874.

The cathedral signifies a potent time in Zanzibar’s history and

stands on the sight of a past slave market with the high altar

standing on the exact site of the whipping post. Slavery was

abolished in 1873 by decree of the Sultan of Zanzibar. From here

visit the residence of the late Sultan of Zanzibar, ‘Tip Tip House’,

the Old Fort, ‘Peoples Palace’ and the House of Wonders’, full of

intrigue from days of long ago. The tour ends with a stroll down

the narrow streets of old Stone Town, the heart of Zanzibar’s

chequered history.
