CALGARY HITMEN (15-20-4-2, 36 pts.) vs. LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES (24-15-3-3, 54 pts.)
Sunday, January 15, 2017 • 4:00 p.m. MT • Scotiabank Saddledome
TODAY’S GAME
The Calgary Hitmen play their second game in as many days this afternoon as they welcome the Lethbridge Hurricanes to the
Scotiabank Saddledome. It’s Sunday Funday, presented by Pocky, with game festivities that include face painters, balloon artists,
concourse activities and a post-game family skate. The Hitmen are coming off last night’s 5-4 loss to Prince George. Goaltender
Ty Edmonds made 47 saves while Winnipeg Jets prospect Jansen Harkins scored twice for the Cougars. Josh Maser, Brad
Morrison and Radovan Bondra also tallied for the visitors who saw leads of 1-0 and 2-1 erased before overcoming a 3-2 third
period deficit. Mark Kastelic, Matteo Gennaro, Jake Bean and Beck Malenstyn all scored for Calgary who pulled within a goal with
1:21 remaining but were unable to produce the tying marker. Rookie import Vladislav Yeryomenko added a career-high three
assists. Calgary outshot the CHL’s 10th-ranked Cougars 51-29. The Hitmen sit fifth in the Central Division at 36 points, trailing
Edmonton who holds the final Wild Card spot by four points. Calgary has three games in hand on the Oil Kings. Lethbridge, at 54
points, is second in the division, seven points behind the front-running Medicine Hat Tigers.

WE MEET AGAIN: Today marks the first game for Brady Reagan against his former team. The 19-year-old played 123 games
with Lethbridge in parts of three seasons with the Hurricanes. Reagan was acquired from Lethbridge on Nov. 30, 2016, in
exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. In 18 games with Calgary, Reagan has five points,
including his first goal as a Hitmen last Wednesday in Prince Albert.
HOME SWEET ’DOME: Today is Game 2 of four straight games for the Hitmen at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary is 8-8-1-

Kastelic was Calgary’s second-round pick, 41st overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The product of Phoenix, AZ, took home
the Hitmen RE/MAX Rookie of the Year Award last season, posting 10 points in 59 games. He has already notched 16 points in

MARTIN MOVES IN: On Jan. 10, Calgary added 20-year-old goaltender Trevor Martin to the roster. The move follows the Jan. 6
upper-body injury to goalie Cody Porter against the Regina Pats. It has been determined Porter is now out of the lineup
indefinitely. Martin had a terrific season last year with the Red Deer Rebels and has spent the first half of the season with Baie-
Comeau in the QMJHL. Martin, who has 63 games of WHL regular season experience, also turned in a sterling first round playoff
series last season against the Hitmen. He went 4-1 with a 2.20 goals-against average and .927 save percentage.
COLEMAN’S CORNER: On. Jan. 10, the Hitmen acquired 18-year-old left wing Luke Coleman and a fourth-round pick in the 2018
WHL Bantam Draft from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 19-year-old centre Jordy Stallard and a seventh-round selection
in 2017. Coleman earned an invite to Detroit Red Wings Development Camp this past summer and returned for Red Wings
Training Camp in the fall. He played both AAA Bantam and Midget in Red Deer, Alberta, skating in 132 games. He scored 52
times while adding 64 assists for 116 points. Coleman also added three points (2g, 1a) in five games at the 2013 ATB Alberta
Cup, an annual tournament featuring the top bantam players in the province. In parts of three WHL seasons, all with the Raiders,
Coleman has scored 21 goals and added 23 assists for 44 points. He has two assists through his first three games with the
Hitmen.
KRYSKI’S COMMUTE: On Jan. 8, the Hitmen acquired 18-year-old centre Jake Kryski from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for
19-year-old Carsen Twarynski. Kryski has carried his notable minor hockey point production into the Western Hockey League. He
recorded 118 points (59g, 59a) during the 2012-13 campaign as a 14-year-old playing AAA Bantam with the Burnaby Winter Club
and followed that up with a 48-point season (16g, 32a) while playing AAA Midget with the Okanagan Rockets. Kryski then hit the
ground running as a 16-year-old in the WHL, scoring 11 times en route to a 24-point rookie campaign with the Kamloops Blazers.
He was also named to Canada Red at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he had five points (1g, 4a) in five games. In
parts of four seasons in the WHL, Kryski has scored 37 goals and added 58 assists for 95 points. He scored in his Hitmen debut
on trade deadline day in Saskatoon.
MALENSTYN’S MARK: Beck Malenstyn is having a breakout season. During his first two WHL campaigns, the Washington
Capitals prospect scored 16 goals in 121 games. He has already scored 18 times this season in 39 games.
