introduction<br />

• al ittihad sports club was founded by businessmen and football<br />

supporters in jeddah, saudi arabia in 1927. al ittihad is the first<br />

football club in saudi arabia and enjoys a fan base of more than<br />

four million supporters across the kingdom.<br />

• the club has won two asian federation cups (afc), 1 asian cup<br />

winners, and was described as the “people’s club”.<br />

• in may 2015, al-ittihad entered the guinness book of world<br />

records, as the first and only saudi arabian/asian club entering it,<br />

because the club had won 232 different local and regional<br />

championships in games.<br />

• the club has 11 sports: football and 10 other sports - volleyball,<br />

basketball, table tennis, swimming, water polo, karate,<br />

gymnastics, judo, tennis and athletics.

UNTIL 2008 WHEN THE BRANDING TOOK A TURN IN DIRECTION AND COLOUR.<br />

• IN 2008, A NEW LOGO WAS CREATED FOR THE FOOTBALL CLUB (THE TIGER),<br />

AND THE LOGO WITH THE HISTORY AND EQUITY WAS USED FOR ALL<br />

NON-FOOTBALL OPERATIONS


• THE LOGO WAS OVERCROWDED WITH ELEMENTS<br />

• TYPOGRAPHY STYLE WAS DATED AND OUT OF FASHION<br />

• THE SHIELD DESIGN NEEDED UPDATING<br />

• REDESIGNED THE MAIN CLUB LOGO TO CONTINUE THE EVOLUTION TREND.<br />

• THE TIGER WAS REDRAWN TO BE USED ON MERCHANDISE AND PART OF THE<br />

SECONDARY BRAND
