animals.
Located in the heart of Te
Rapa’s commercial area, these
two privately owned centres
cater for children from birth
to six years. We offer a range
of care options, from all day
care to 30 hours’ genuinely
free education for pre-schoolers
(conditions apply).
At Sunshine on Sunshine
we believe that children learn
best when they are surrounded
by their peers. We work alongside
you and your child as they
become a confident learner,
enjoying their surroundings
and those people they engage
with. We assist each child
by maximising the learning
opportunities offered and we
value the contribution each
child will make to our society.
Our Sunshine Ave centre is
hidden behind the industrial
area of Te Rapa, Hamilton and
is licensed for more than 100
children.
Our Sunshine Avenue centre
has five areas, one for each
year of life. The Koru Room
is a specially designed nursery
area away from the bustle
of the main centre, where
teachers believe cuddles and
one-on-one interactions are
the foundation of quality care.
The two toddler rooms – Kea
and Pukeko – provide a stimulating
and encouraging environment
where toddlers can
get messy and learn through
sensory fun. The Piwaiwaka
Room introduces more structured
learning for three-yearolds.
The teachers design individual,
brain-focused learning
programmes for each child.
The Rimu Room has a focus
in readiness for school which
is woven throughout the daily
curriculum.
Our smaller Vickery Street
centre offers a vibrant multicultural
mixed-age learning
environment that strengthens
the bonds between siblings and
allows all children to learn and
play together. The teachers are
proud of their unique community
and work with whanau
to provide a learning environment
that combines free play
with planned activities and the
consistency of familiar, structured
routines.
Situated across from the
Pukete, Fire Station our small
whanau centre is licensed for
50 children. We value family
involvement within our centre
community and offer a range
of opportunities for parents to
communicate with teachers
regarding their child’s development
and wellbeing, both
formally and informally. We
value our outdoor environment
and encourage the children’s
learning about papatuanuku –
our living world, through care
of pets, plants and our spacious
natural centre environment.

We have classes for all ages and abilities. 3 and 4 year
olds can learn ballet, jazz and hip hop. From 5 years
and up, they can learn classical ballet, American Jazz
