DRIPPING
in DIAMONDS
A sparkling affair celebrated six decades of
design at AmericasMart Atlanta.
Darlings of design descended on AmericasMart for a
sparkling event celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the
iconic Atlanta market. Over diamond martinis (the event's
signature sip) and hors d'oeuvres, guests admired the
reveal of seven curated vignettes. This season’s task?
Creating a space inspired by iconic interiors. In partnership
with the Designer Network, participants were selected from
among the most sought-after designers in the country.
With inspiration ranging from the Kennedy’s ‘Camelot’ to
Oscar de la Renta’s tropical home in the Dominican
Republic, each designer impressed with their unique
interpretation of the exhibition’s theme.
The Diamonds of Design Vignette Gallery is located in
Building 1, Floor 14 (Space 14-D-9) at AmericasMart
Atlanta. Visitors are encouraged to visit the
exhibition through June 2017.

an intimate 'getaway' for
party-goers to relax with
a cocktail, while a photo
booth and DJ provided lively
entertainment.

ALL THAT
GLITTERS
ON FLOOR 15
Friday night fever hit the
hallways of floor fifteen
as exhibitors welcomed
guests during a latenight
shopping event at
AmericasMart Atlanta.
The floor party drew
hundreds of buyers to
the fifteenth floor for
specialty cocktails, light
bites, and entertainment.
Using a printed "map"
of showroom specials,
shoppers navigated
the floors, seeking out
hot discoveries from
participating exhibitors.
Guests enjoyed a sweet
serenade in the Light &
Living showroom, a DJ
and dancing at Gabby,
and a variety of delicious
treats throughout the
floor. Sparkling souvenir
rings lit up the night as
guests grooved to the
beat of live music. As the
evening drew to a close,
guests knew "all that
glitters" could be found
on floor fifteen.
Smiling faces lined the
hallways as guests nibbled on
mini-cupcakes and other
refreshments.

“In 2017, we’re seeing visions
of denim and patterned velvet
come to life. Classic and cozy like
our favorite pair of dungarees,
denim fabrics create a beautiful
worn-in look that can be used all
over the home. Velvet is one of
those classic fabrics that comes
around every once in awhile in
a very special way. Equal parts
luxury and approachability, we
see velvet making an appearance
on tufted ottomans, dining room
chairs—even our favorite linens!”
“The interior design world has
been all about white paint for
a few years. I think we will see
a trend in contrast as black
becomes a more comfortable
choice for walls, cabinetry,
appliances, and furnishings. A
black kitchen faucet creates an
opportunity for brass hardware
or a polished nickel light fixture.
For me and my clients, red has
been dead for quite some time,
but I'm seeing glimpses of a
comeback with wallcoverings
and fabrics. I expect shades of
crimson and persimmon will be
popping up again this year!”
“I’m predicting more colorful
interiors and home goods
in 2017. We’ll also be seeing
traditional materials and
elements done in more modern
ways. This year will be all about
mixing it up and not sticking
to one particular era and style.
Finally I predict an ongoing trend
of designers and homeowners
buying less but buying better.
We’re all sick of disposable
design culture, and goods by
artisan makers are so much
more accessible now.”

The Paris markets were all
about saturated, rich colors like
peacock blue, amethyst, deep
saffron...nothing bashful about
these hues. And since I am
known for my fearless use of
color, things are looking bright

“In my trend predictions for
2017, I see deep tones taking
over walls and cabinetry this
year, forest green and teal in
particular. I see a trend toward
classic furniture shapes and
patterns mixed with bohemian
layers and textures.”
“This year, we’re looking for
graphic statement tiles that will
make a kitchen or bath pop; they
are an underutilized way to add
personality to these often-used
spaces. Lush chocolate browns
are making a comeback, so we’ll
be on the lookout for pieces in
this color that will add depth and
sophistication to a room. We’re
also loving spa-like bath features
for an amazing way to add a
sense of luxury to your space.”
