Special meeting of the Board of Aldermen, called by the President, at the request of a majority of the members of the Board, to take action on certain matters of unfinished business now on the table, a!3 the members having been duly notified in writing, City Hall, Somerville, Jan. 4, 193C 7.00 p.m. The president, Alderman Ross presiding. Aldermen Kitson, Ryan, Dionne, Carr, Crowley, Stynes, Mackey, Pearson, Griramons, Pratt, Harris, Hayes, Sherman, Knapp, Elliott, Howe and vice-president Gobron present. The first business was a motion by Alderman Pratt and seconded by Alderman Harris that previous action taken at the regular meet- ing of the board December 26, 1929, referring all "unfinished business to the next Bca rd of Aldermen, be rescinded. After considerable discussion Alderman Carr invoked Section 15 and the chair ruled that Section 15 did apply, as the intention of Sec- tion 15 is to prevent hasty action. Vice-president Gobron then made a motion that the Board re- consider the action taken on December 26. This vote was by roll call, 11 voting in the affirmative, 5 in the negative, 4 being absent, and the presi- dent not voting. During the debate which followed, the adoption of the pre-' vious question was asked for, roll call vote being taken and 13 voting in the affirmative, 5 in the negative, 3 being absent, and the previous questior was adopted, and action taken December 26 was reconsidered. UNFINISHED- BUSINESS. Petition Mary E. Hogan for the storage of gasoline 494 Medford street, which at.the last meeting further action was delayed under section 15 of the city charter, was Taken from the table and report of committee accepted (and license granted) by roll call vote, 10 voting in the affirmative, 7 in the negative, 3 being absent, and 1 refusing to vote.
