GOING on retirement is very similar to getting into
a two-man yacht and setting sail for the unknown
open seas with your loved one by your side.
You are certain to enter a very rough experience
as the stormy seas of equity markets and interest

now under new ownership, but
still maintains its extensive
menu, including its famous
B e av e r s ’ pies.
Karen Long and her partner,
Peter van Ginkel, are the new
owners.
They have even extended
their menu to include items
such as curry and rice, spring
rolls, vetkoek and their special
r o o st e r b r o o d .
Long looks after the
operations side of the business
while Van Ginkel, whose father
was the owner of Maxie’s
Angling Nook at the wharf and
who therefore grew up around

initiated by the business, which
has become a trusted name in
vehicle cleanliness and quality
service in Port Alfred since its
inception two years ago.
The loyalty programme aims

for books,” Lamber t
said.

shelves, the business
now includes a range
of handcrafted gifts
and toys which are
sure to be enjoyed by
youngsters while
instilling a love for
books and characters.
They also knit jerseys
to customers’
s p e c i f i c at i o n s .
“We will also be
starting up a book
club in the near
future,” Horne said.
