József Fekete: The Impact of Economic Development on the Environment: the Case of the BRICS

This paper analyses whether the economic growth has a direct effect on the environment. It is particularly focusing on the BRICS countries and gives an overview on sustainable development and consumption, attempts to suggest a literature review on the correlations between the economy and the environment in the these countries, and addresses the environmental effects of economic development on the basis of different statistics.
