He was murdered in the <strong>Jadovno</strong> concentration camp nearby Gospić on June 28,<br />

In the Application form deprivation of life or missing persons, submitted in Banjaluka<br />

on September 19, 1945 by Max J. Vajs, the official from Banjaluka it was stated (A column)<br />

that Teodor Vajs, son of Jonas, age 40, tradesman, permanent resident in Banjaluka, the Jew,<br />

as a soldier of the Yugoslav army was taken by the Ustashe to the unidentified direction<br />

during the German occupation. The estimated unrealized gain for the period from 1941 to<br />

1945 was 1,200.000 dinars according to the Submitter of the Application but the assessed<br />

amount of the Municipal Commission was 720.000 dinars. 2717<br />

In the War Damage Report as of September 23, 1945 submitted by Maks J. Vajs from<br />

Banjaluka, the representative for the damaged party Teodor Vajs, son of Jonas, age 40,<br />

tradesman from Banjaluka, the Jew; it was stated that during the German occupation as of<br />

April 15, 1941 the Germans and the Ustashe authorities caused the damage by destruction and<br />

confiscation of the property (movables, furniture, cash and securities – valued at 250.000<br />

dinars). The total estimated damage and unrealized gain were 250.000 dinars according to the<br />

Submitter of the Request and the Municipal Commission. 2718<br />

Zlata<br />

Zlata Weiss, wife of Teodor Weiss, owner of the company for groceries, "colonial<br />

goods" and alcoholic drinks for whole sale and retail sale in Banjaluka in Aleksandrova Street<br />

sent a Request to the Stožernik Viktor Gutić asking for her family monthly support on May<br />

16, <strong>1941.</strong> The shop was taken over by an appointed trustee on April 12, <strong>1941.</strong> The Weisse's<br />

didn’t receive any payment. In the past two families lived due to the income received from her<br />

husband’s shop. The family had on other income and the family situation was very difficult.<br />

Teodor Weiss was imprisoned. The furniture was requisitioned by the German army. The<br />

Request was denied on June 14, <strong>1941.</strong> 2719<br />

Ilonka<br />

On November 7, 1942 the Tax Office – Banjaluka informed the Office for<br />

Nationalisation of Property at the Treasury of the State in Zagreb that Ilonka Weiss was<br />

transported out of Banjaluka together with the other Jews in August this year. The data of her<br />

payment for her husband was unknown because she is not in Banjaluka and the association<br />

"Anker" has not a representative here. 2720<br />

Pursuant to the Decision of the District Court in Banjaluka as of November 1948,<br />

Johanna Weiss maiden Barkić from Banjaluka, currently residing in Bari, Italy inherited ¼ of<br />
